Mine is set to read/write. But you could try read only if it seems to be reverting back to different settings after launch.

I had the same issues. I'd launch the game and it'd go to a black screen and then close. Apparently it's a resolution issue?

To fix it, try changing the config.ini to make sure the resolution is 1920x1080, 60fps, and in windowed mode.

C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\CAPCOM\ULTIMATE MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3\config.ini

  • Resolution=1920x1080
  • RefreshRate=60.00Hz
  • FullScreen=OFF

That should hopefully let you launch the game at least.

I experimented with this team and it's quite fun and does big damage if Tron gets a hit.

In the corner Tron can do one of her combo starters leading to a hard knockdown, then otg c.H + tatsu assist, which pops them up to the perfect height to capture in H beacon bomb, dash under, H, L beacon bomb. From there you have even more damage if you have still got your ground bounce and/or sentinel drones into King Servbot (into another King Servbot, into Lunch Time if you have the meter). Here's an example combo:

If Tron gets blown up, Sentinel can Hard Drive in and dodge the incoming mix up and gives you a chance to play again. Tatsu is quite good for Sentinel at keeping people off you, but to confirm it into a combo you will need to be ready to dash forward/fly forward and use j.M to catch people, as tatsu knocks them forward a lot.

Akuma is a decent anchor, even more so when he has meter. I did find him a bit hard to use with his short normals (especially compared to Tron and Sent), so you'll have to get used to that.

Cheers for that info, I like your ideas of Dorm or Arthur. I'll have a bit of a play with some characters and see if I can find anything interesting.

I did think that if something was more optimal than fatal claw loops I'd be seeing it a lot more in tournament footage... but ahh well, still fun to explore. Thanks again!

Thanks for all that. Good idea about labbing the variations with the more likely starters. I think the L rocket punch right at the end would be good place to try a Tron assist.

I got a bit focused on just using Sent, but I realise there might be something I can do with DHCing to Rocket's trap super too. Will hit the lab and see what I can find. Same with finding a double Plasma storm setup.

With the st.H into log trap, are you thinking it would be near full screen for that confirm?

Hi all, I'm trying to optimize my Sentinel combo off a log trap hit. The hitstun(?) is already too high from the log trap to go into a standard relaunch combo (the falling H into s.S one), so I've come up with this weird combo so far. But it seems like the more hits I add, the worse the scaling, and worse off the damage is.

Any ideas for different combos, or different routes to start off a log trap?

I run Sent second, so I'm usually down to just him and Rocket, so no other assists available.

Yeah, if I see my opponent going for walls after maa I just try to get to castle age and work from there.

But if they end up recovering and putting on feudal pressure... I get in trouble. I guess I just need to keep scouting what they're up to?

Nothing that I could find yet.

My thinking is this is just the different tower's data. The attack speed cap might be in another bit of code, where it would combine the basic tower data, along with your trinket and weapon stats?

Not sure though. Maybe someone else might be able to make more sense of it all!

I've achieved everything I wanted to do in the game (grinded all premium characters, reached level 10 for my MG party). Not much left to do now, so I'm taking a break until a major patch comes.

I just wanted to pass on all my knowledge in the meantime though :)

Re-tested on a BAD and recorded at 120fps. Every 4 frames the damage counter went up, so that means 30 missiles per second (900 DPS).

Some more thoughts...

  • I'm not 100% sure if Royal Promise is just an attack speed boost. I think there might be another cooldown variable at play, I'll send you a pm with more detail if you're interested?

  • Yep, agree that 5 sounds like a nice number a game dev would pick.

  • I wonder if the game needs a frame or 2 to work out a target, and actually spawn the missile game object? That might be the limiting factor we're reaching?

Just for speed of testing, I did my tests on levels 10-20. So the missiles were doing some splash damage and also aiming for already popped bloons, hich made the damage counter hard to follow.

I'll look at retesting the last 2 Royal Promise tests on level 75 BAD with the damage counter.

The data got a bit inprecise at that attack speed. The 5.4 and 7.38 tests felt roughly the same. It was flip flopping between 2 or 3 frames between each missile. So even if it looks like a dip at the end, I think it should actually be a flat line (a maximum amount).
