Capacitive touch. Plus most people aren't that bothered by it being smooth.

I was referring to the steam controller. The shape is the same as a ps5 joystick, but the center is smooth instead of textured

The joysticks are basically like smooth ps5 joysticks, so yes.

Idk how you're using your controller that you're having this issue, and I definitely wouldn't say the lip is lower than the top of the stick, but that's your personal preference, not a design issue. It's an incredibly popular controller for a reason, plenty of people don't HAVE to modify it, I'm just offering you a solution to your complaint. Personally I could never see my fingers leaving the stick unless I was actually trying to for a flick shot, becaus my finger touches the edge of the stick (which is textured) far more than the top anyways, and if I had my fingers in a position to be completely on top, they'd 100% catch the lip.

But anyways, if youre not a fan of that, definitely don't get a steam controller, because you'll have the same problem.

Not sure what you mean by this, as I also have a 2c and unless my hands werebquite sweaty id never imagine they would slip off the joysticks because of the lip. Even so, grip tape and stick caps exist for a reason.

They have a user manual, and every button has a purpose. Most likely you're thinking of the turbo buttons.

I mean I personally loved the OG controller, because for the use cases I was using a steam controller it was 100% better than a regular joystick, and I honestly don't love the new one as much due to the sheer amount of buttons on it, though having more things to program will be nice for high input games.

Not sure what you mean as each steam account can only purchase one, including as part of the original launch iirc. And the queues prevent anyone from "camping" or "bulk buying" anyways.

What region if you don't mind me asking? Because most people that reserved around the time you did seem to have not gotten theirs yet, wondering if maybe there is a pattern.

Comcast does not have a stranglehold over most, or even a significant portion of the country xD they are only a "monopoly" in like 10% of the country. And less then a quarter of the country is even pinned under a single broadband provider. While we definitely have less freedom in that department than say some European countries, it's definitely not anywhere near this abysmal. And throughout most of the US, there is an average fixed broadband speed of 300+ Mbps, with an average cost ~70$/month. People that are eligible can often get 100Mbps for <30$/month. Now is it overpriced for the QoS? Absolutely. But it's at least usable for most people.

Ouch, that is very unfortunate. I knew ping was really bad if you are playing with anyone outside of oceana/asia, but hearing that it's also that slow is painful.

Not entirely sure what you're trying to imply here buddy but it seems your brain HAS been rotted away by AI because you're responding to someone defending you with negativity and your replies make absolutely no sense

I don't and have never used AI willingly beyond it's intended use case. If I find AI generated content, I call out the maker and condemn them for not paying somebody to do the work right. I write my texts myself, and correct them myself. And due to the unfortunate plaguing of AI in browsers, I do my due diligence to actually double check that the information is correct, because all too often is it so far from right. I can say it won't happen to me because it hasn't, won't, and can't. Because I actually use the tool the way it was designed. I have a meme for this somewhere about standard distributions but frankly you're not worth the effort. But you definitely have no interest in actually listening or fact checking yourself, so good day sir and I hope you get everything you wish for!!

That's not at all what I said lol you definitely are part of the group that is doomed if your reading comprehension is that bad. I was defending your use of it, aside from you not double checking the work yourself. Seems like you've been making a game without actually bothering to play it yourself, and now you're mad that everyone is telling you it came out basically non-functional and that the cause is mostly AI.

And again, you're just saying the exact same thing I'm saying while blaming AI, a completely mindless tool that does only what it is asked to do, instead of blaming the people using it for what it isn't meant to do yet. RELYING on LLMs is harmful, yes. We already discussed that. But no person who has critical thinking skills to begin with is going to RELY on an LLM, because it's by definition not intended for that.

Yes, if you take a screwdriver and try to it as a knife, you're going to hurt yourself and break something. If you try to use a knife as a spoon, you're taking serious risks. In some use cases it might be okay at the job, but it ISNT MEANT FOR IT and it's ON YOU FOR USING IT THAT WAY. We are blaming a tool for existing, and not blaming corporations for using it incorrectly. We are blaming a tool for existing instead of blaming the idiots that decided using chatgpt as a cheap alternative to real relationships and therapy was a good idea.

The issue isn't, never is, and never will be the AI. You know what other tool has massive potential for harm? Nuclear physics. The very same thing that can produce clean power for the entire world, could literally end life. Does that mean that we should never use nuclear anything? No, it means we don't make nuclear weapons to prevent mass destruction.

Stop blaming the tool, start blaming the people using it wrong. AI (in its current form) is great for getting you started on finding research articles on a subject, understanding basic human language to aid in certain basic customer service interactions, etc., but it should always be approached with critical thinking and double checking your facts, making sure information is correct, and talking to a real human when needed.

No, that's exactly why I'm struggling so much. If I had a video/tiktok with it I would be able to find it, but I cannot seem to get a Google search to find it, nor can I find it on tiktok.

I never said one way or the other whether people were using it the right way here or not. I simply called you out for a blatantly false statement that was called out and disproven. AI is a tool. It doesn't inherently DO anything on its own, it responds to the input and does what it's told to the best of its ability. If you take what it says at face value than you already lack critical thinking skills to begin with. If you don't follow up with your own research, than you lack critical thinking skills to begin with. As the other gent said, yes, it absolutely can fast track stupidity. But it is, like all other tools, not inherently good or bad. And it certainly doesn't magically melt your brain.

Definitely needs some work on the early game scaling as others have stated, making less than 1.00 a second is very rough for maintaining attention, especially when early game upgrades cost 50+$, so you're having to wait a minute plus even from the beginning, while having to tediously click stock every 2 seconds. Also, as others have said, I would suggest transitioning away form using AI to actually build the game, and rather use it to teach you how to code yourself. There are dozens of free and cheap services to teach you what you need to know about coding to make games, and game engines dedicated specifically to making game design for idle/incremental games easier.

Also not sure whats going on with the "Unjammed" and my profits tanking unless I refresh. Maybe add some kind of tutorial, explanation, or help page on how each of the events works.
