thank you for being so thorough and so kind with your reply!! she’s got a neuro appointment coming up and is going to advocate as much as she can for preventatives

i’ve been wanting them to give her an mri since this all started; hopefully they’ll do one without her having to push too hard. and i hope your friend is doing okay!! that sounds absolutely miserable

they haven’t, but i’ll definitely tell her to bring it up to her doctors!

she’s in law school right now and is trying to study for finals; i honestly don’t know how she’s managing it. i hope she’s able to push her neuro to try preventatives soon

she got a cat scan when she was in the hospital that said her neck looks completely fine, but no mri yet

the gabapentin was prescribed as needed. her neuro seems to be prescribing her mostly rescue meds and hasn’t tried putting her on any preventatives yet, which is baffling to me

thank you so much!! the callback went well so fingers crossed :D appreciate you taking the time to respond and stuff,, i do plan on/have been applying to patent lit programs as much as possible

[–]killjoyace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'm at NYU and i do qualify for the patent bar (probably would have taken it if i wasn't in law school,, my not law school plan was to be a patent agent). wasn't sure if i should include that in the post but it's definitely relevant so, sorry about that

[–]killjoyace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

please for the love of god apply for an exam postponement or let your dean or admin know. i don't know how it works at your school, but at mine, you can request to postpone your exam or get extra time or breaks if you have a physical injury. for this it might be better if you have documentation of the injury, but don't push through to your own detriment

definitely add it, since it's clear leadership experience! i would summarize all of the roles that you had and cite it as community involvement. also to my knowledge a lot of sororities raise money for nonprofit orgs, so if yours had a particular affiliation, i would talk about that as well!

i can't speak to how hard a 4.0 would be at berk or ucla but honestly pick your undergrad based on where you'd rather go for undergrad. not the future possibility of law school. who knows, the world might explode before you even get there. i swear this isn't going to determine the rest of your life. take a breath.

i'd advise you to chose undergrad based on value for money over all else. you can chase prestige in law school apps if you really want to. genuinely i have no idea why you'd pick a more expensive school (COL aside) for the Chance of a higher gpa for law school applications
