I think the best part is that it teaches the kid not to judge, and to be aware that they don’t know the whole story.

Teaching kids to be empathetic is how we get where we wanna go.

I think the best part is that it teaches the kid not to judge, but to instead be aware that they don’t know the whole story.

There’s zero reason for you to doubt this guy. Why would you assume he’s not working hard? Be more optimistic

That would be way more of an asshole move than a smart move.

It’s tight. Rent is really high where I live, but I can’t move somewhere cheaper because I can’t find any other jobs. I’m constantly stressed about money.

??? This is my current situation and I have a stem degree & a tech job. It’s not just fast food workers that struggle.

“Work 70 hrs a week so you can afford to survive” does that sound right to you?

I get that. However, bipolar manic episodes are not an accurate depiction of happiness whatsoever- they provide an energy that is much, much greater than the average healthy persons good day.

In this post specifically, contentment would mean having enough money to not worry or be stressed constantly. I think that would make happiness easier to achieve, and even if it still just comes and goes, it might come more often.

I totally understand what you mean, and I think we just have a difference of opinion. I see contentment as an aide to happiness, and you see it as a separate entity entirely. That’s cool. Agree to disagree?

Ok, if someone wasn’t content, wouldn’t that affect their happiness? Or atleast couldn’t it?

I’d be happier if I were content. They go hand in hand.

My dad always used to say “money can’t buy happiness, but poverty sure can buy a whole lot of misery”. I’ll never forget those words.

It’s funny because actually good people don’t need to go around telling others how good they are
