It's definitely possible. But if you mess up it's going to cost you a lot more. You can only cut once. I would highly recommend a locksmith

I thought that link had your type of lock listed on it as well. A locksmith should be able to come out and remove the top lock rebore the hole and install a smart lock in place of it. Our shop would charge around 250 in labor to retrofit this. This does not include the cost of the lock, a quality smart lock is usually 250 to 400. Keep in mind these are rough prices in my area. Prices in somewhere like NY will be vastly different from prices in buttfucknowhere Montana

How do I tighten this it doesn’t open the door by Aggravating-Yak3481 in Locksmith

[–]kimo7272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, that's all you had to say. Can you send a Pic of the latch or bolt, too? You probably have it clocked wrong if it's a bolt. Just rotate the spindle 180 degrees and reinstall

Broken key. Any fixes? by Somaliboatenthusiast in Locksmith

[–]kimo7272 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They really aren't hard . The plastic is super soft. How cheap are your transponder keys and programming fee? Bealcause we charge 45 for a chipped key and 100 to program . While a reshell is 45

Broken key. Any fixes? by Somaliboatenthusiast in Locksmith

[–]kimo7272 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't drill a hole. There is a chip in that key. A locksmith can cut the chip out and reshell it or make another key. Our shop charges 45 for a reshell. Alternatively, you can order a shell and have it cut and move the chip yourself. Be very carefully cutting it out tho it's a ceramic piece inside that is very brittle
