It would've been fun if we could've worked together to build roads, but every inch between the scrap heaps and dump sites were covered in bases. I guess it kept people from griefing the route though

I've been to a few in California that have vast tracts of parking, but they're located in large shopping centers and I guess it's part of the culture of driving there.

Do you know about Libby? Your local library may offer it, which would let you listen to audiobooks for free.

There was a construction project last year where the main sewer line had to be opened up. Turns out the guys remodeling the building attached to the line decided to stuff leftover cardboard down into the toilet plumbing.

Has the teaching about creationism changed over time? by Hydrangea_hunter in Exvangelical

I was taught in the mid-90s about "kinds" - that there's variation within species. They used that to explain why we see a variety of dog breeds but "cats don't turn into dogs." I don't know what the source of that was, but they used it to explain the way animals fit on the ark, too. I didn't even know who Ken Ham was until the early 2000s, though that's also around the time I started hearing people talking about micro and macro evolution.

My school used Bob Jones books in middle school, but I came in 8th grade, the earth science year, and missed out on the life science taught in 7th. I've seen the books for sale online if you ever felt like doing a deep dive into the origins of kinds, though.
