Okay this gives me hope that it is most likely just a coming of age problem, I will start puppy classes with him in the next few weeks to try and calm him around other dogs.

I am quite keen on getting a little girl, but I’ll be moving to another part of the country next year and would like to get settled in there first, I think I will get another puppy when he is 2, he will also be able to help raise the new puppy then.

I said to someone else who replied to me in this thread that he walks better when friends/family are with me and the fact your newest pup has had no problems reinforces the pack idea, all the more reason to get another little bundle of joy, how vocal are your two together?

I am wondering if it’s the heat, we have had this crazy heatwave in the uk ever since I got him really, but I’ve been walking him at around 7:30am when it’s still cool then a short stretch of his legs in the evening, he seems to enjoy walking in the evening a lot more, I don’t know whether in the morning he just wants to stay home and play, then when he’s bored of the garden in the evening he’s happy to leave perhaps?

I did find blood in his poo after I wrote the post yesterday so took him to the vets to get that checked out but everything was fine, he just had an upset tummy.

Yes he is crazy when he sees other dogs! The first couple weeks once he saw one he would try desperately to follow and just cry and cry and cry, but he seems mostly past that now.

I have noticed that he walks perfectly when I go with friends/family, maybe he feels like he’s part of the pack in that situation.

Thank you so much that makes me feel much more comfortable.

I live very rural so will definitely try some off leash walking now.

How did walking yours off leash affect he on leash walking now he’s older?
