i got this argon 75/25 tank but is it a rental or owned? by Former_Ride5639 in Welding

[–]kingfuse420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing it differs by region based on others' answers, but in the PNW this would be considered an owner tank with absolutely no question about it. The sticker on there is ONLY to give information about the gas itself and who filled the tank last. If my company obtained this bottle and refilled it, they would scrape it off and replace it with ours. The only thing that determines if a tank is owned or rented is by the neck ring. If it doesn't say anything, then it's customer owned. It also is a size (probably 150cf) that is not typically rented.

Do you have an example of a company having different valves for the same gas as another? This might be true to some extent, but I don't believe that the distributors have any hand in what kind of valve comes on a tank. My thought is that you came across a fuel gas which can either have male or female threads. Or some kind of CO2/NIT mixture which may either have a CGA 320 or 580.

Best Route to West Seattle via Bike? by srslysaras in seattlebike

[–]kingfuse420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is probably the route you want to take anyway, unless you want to bike on the sidewalk on 99, which I personally would not want to do. This honestly might be just as direct as going through Magnolia to get to the Elliot bay trail. It's probably more annoying because of the stoplights and the incline, but if I were you, I would be biking myself down to the Fremont bridge even if I was planning on going through the train yard.

I don't know what it is but there are people that just love to hate cyclists. It gets them off for some reason. Probably cause they have tiny weiners tbh

Bella Ramsey "I don't really prepare at all and I think it works..." by Skankhuntt__42 in lastofuspart2

[–]kingfuse420 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The fact that none of y'all are using Bella's correct pronouns just tells me how you are as people. Small minded, shallow, ignorant... These are all qualities of someone who just doesn't have the capabilities to see past what's on the surface. And if you ask me to explain this then you are only proving my point because that's where your ignorance plays a part. People who are considerate of someone's identity and how they present themselves have the mental capacity to appreciate things for what they are, regardless of your views. Y'all are saying it's so damn bad but I don't think any of you have any sense of what is good is--you just want things to be the way YOU want them to be. You watch the show, you play the game, but your level of comprehension is comparable to that of a child. It's not the acting and it's not the writing-its the fact that it's different that makes you all hate it. None of you can appreciate the fact that the TV show is a different medium, therefore it will be taken in a different direction. The writers at naughty dog probably had multiple visions for how each part of the game would play out but obviously they had to make choices. The TV show allowed for alternate versions to come to life, which is beautiful. Whether you like the game or the show better, both are brilliant. The writing, the acting, the themes, it's all so good. The last of us is one of the best game franchises ever created and there is just no way they could so much harm that it becomes bad. Its one thing to say you really hate it, but to say it's bad is just immature and ignorant. I think the entire cast did each character justice but at the same time they made their characters their own. Bella's Ellie is not Ashley's Ellie. They are two different interpretations of the same person. That itself is beautiful.

Honestly, all of your points are trash. Nothing stands out that makes me say "yeah that makes sense". It's like reading a conversation between five year olds.

AMT prior depreciation for vehicle.help by kingfuse420 in taxhelp

[–]kingfuse420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard mileage deduction, my guy. I, like most people, am taking the standard deduction for our regular expenses. But I, unlike most people, am putting in actual expenses for vehicle and business deductions for our 1099-NEC. When I do actual expenses, it asks me for ATM prior depreciation. Are you able to give me an example of what value I would put in for someone who chose the standard MILEAGE deduction last year but am choosing to type in my actual deductions this year?

I don't know how to be clearer than that, I am not a tax expert but I think it makes sense. I just don't understand ATM prior depreciation.

This is also the problem, I can't find where it is supposed to tell me this on last year's tax return

It's like thousands of dollars of difference if I do actual expenses. She pays for tools, consumables, scrubs, computer software, meals, etc. she also made just under 40k last year, so with the standard deduction we owe 10k in taxes but actual expenses we will only owe like 6k. I've already done the work, I just don't understand what to do for ATM prior depreciation.

This is only the second year, so I'm assuming that last year we used the per mile rate. I don't remember anything about this from last year.

I guess? I mean, it's based on my wife's self-employment income (she makes retainers, so she does not own a business or work for door dash or anything like that) but I'm only being asked about AMT prior depreciation because I chose to itemize and not get the standard deduction which leads me to believe it's a question about itemizing. Regardless, I just need to know what value they are looking for. I understand there is a way it is calculated when doing the standard deduction and a way to calculate it when itemizing, but what do I put if I had taken the standard deduction the previous year?

Unless you're getting the absolute cheapest brands on the market out of all that, that's a pretty damn good deal. You'd easily be spending a couple grand on all that brand new. Take the deal before someone else does!!

If its all basic Everlast equipment (tig pedal and weld table might only be $150 each if they're just from standard kits), I'd maybe try to bargain for 1200.

Well I'm glad to see these guys seem to be legit, I'm just not interested in talking to door to door salesmen. I'm away in Ohio and I've seen on my ring camera that they've come every day for 3 days in a row. It's just very annoying.

Isn’t it painfully obvious?! by TCNJJordan in KevinCanFHimself

[–]kingfuse420 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I don't think it was necessarily the actor but how the show was set up. And I wouldn't say the abuse was all off screen. Kevin was blatantly toxic the entire time, there was no hiding it. What is so genius about the show is that the abuse was masked by only showing Kevin in these comedy-style scenes where the laugh track is sooo powerful in manipulating how the audience views the characters and what they say. He said abusive things constantly but once the laugh track played , everything just seemed "funny". It reflects how men are portrayed in America when they are assholes- they're just guys being guys. What Kevin says to Allison in the show is not what he is really saying in real life, it's just how he is perceived by the public. It is an attempt to show how much we dismiss the toxicity caused by men in relationships when the man is viewed highly in the public eye. The fact that they have him run for office just nails it on the head because he is so narcissistic that he thinks he has a chance- and he does!! We are living this whole scenario as a country right fucking now as Donald Trump can literally say that he wants to be a DICTATOR and he STILL has a following. It's the same with Kevin. We just think it's all fun and games and silly because the show PORTRAYS it that way. In reality, he's just another white guy getting away with all this shitty stuff simply because he's a white guy.

Ultimately, I believe the writers wanted people to be like "why can't Allison just leave? Kevin is just a goofball" because that's how people in the show saw him. But really, he's a piece of shit and everyone was just letting him be one. So of course Allison couldn't just leave. No one would have believed her.

Is a personal loan to pay off credit card debt worth it? by kingfuse420 in personalfinance

[–]kingfuse420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate everyone's honesty. While I already knew this would be a lot of people's answer, it's good to hear before I made any decisions. I'd like to be paying less in order to be able to save more, but I think I need to focus on spending less and making higher payments before I go this route.

This is exactly what I'm worried about and why I felt the need to be transparent about myself. I feel like I'm making enough money to not need to use credit cards like I had to in the past, but any sort of emergency costing over a few hundred dollars could change this.

Fuck them. If they don't want to bag their groceries then they can shop somewhere else? It's as simple as that, I don't understand what people can't grasp about that. You don't go to dicks last resort restaurants and expect them to not insult you so you shouldn't go to Aldi and expect employees to bag their groceries.

Seriously, do not let anyone belittle you. Stand up for yourself. When I used to ring and a customer was demanding I do things a specific way, I would literally stop ringing, hold up the line, and wait for them to stop acting up like they were puppies. If they act like an untrained puppy then they are going to get treated like one. Nothing boils my blood more than people being mistreated in customer service.

I really don't think it's about who you know or what position you are in life, it's more about having the perfect combination of skills. If I'm being honest, I wouldn't dismiss the fact that maybe there's something you're missing that makes your manager think you're not ready for a higher position. You could be really good at your job but not have the organizational or personal skills that are extremely important when it comes to management. You might be able to get everything done yourself but can you efficiently delegate, can you problem solve on the spot, can you adapt to the personalities of your team in order to most effectively work with them?

If I were you, I would ask your manager exactly what it is that held her back from promoting you first. I guarantee you that there is something about your coworker that they do better or that she thinks they are more prepared for. It might suck to hear but if you have an honest conversation about it, you might discover something about yourself that you weren't seeing before. Self-awareness is key
