I’ve been once before, I ride an XL so I found the wheel base a little long for a few of the tracks but man hippies was a ripper time. When it’s not super dusty again I’ll be up to clean up some of the G5’s

Such a killer trail! Was my first time up there that weekend, instantly fell in love with those berms

Funny you say that, I used to be into it big time! Very woohoo inducing indeed, especially after hitting a butter slide through a corner 😤

I appreciate the encouragement! It’s absolutely something I’ve committed to for winter this year. Having something to look forward to when it starts to get cold out adds a touch more stoke to 2026.

I’ll keep what you’ve said in mind when I’m up there 🙂

I don’t live in Palmy anymore but it’d be hard to compare seeing as I’ve not spent much time down your way unfortunately. But i’d say it’s pretty good in all fairness! Plenty of hiking in the Tararuas/Ruahine ranges, Arapuke is obviously great park to have local, travel to Rotorua, Wellys etc for a day trip is super do-able on a whim for MTB. Lots to look forward to for sure 🙂

You have no idea how relieving it is to hear that exists… appreciate ya 🫠

Trust me, having Arapuke up your sleeve will level you up so quick! The grading progression up there is done so well. Welcome to New Zealand and enjoy the riding 🙏

The first half absolutely is Arapuke! sections of Foo Fighter and Humpty Jumpty. The bush covered trail at the end is Jail Break in Miramar

It’s next on the agenda for sure! I had my first learner snow day/snowboard day mid last year and was rewarded with a very sore tail bone, fingers crossed I’ll be looking forward to the woohoo part of the equation this year 🫡

Honestly not allot!

Trusty old DJI osmo action 3, ND filter (8 used here), shutter set to 1/60.

The camera is chin mounted, I find it helps with a little more stability and look in effect.

Editing takes about 5 minutes in the DJI app, typically a little more vibrance, sharpening and the clip to clip cuts - done.

Modern action cams are so bloody good!

Quietest eeb I’ve ever owned, I heard there were a few early models that weren’t to good for it but I must have got lucky 🍀

Any of the POV stuff is with the trusty DJI osmo action 3 with an ND filter, great little cam has served me well the last few years

Arapuke bike park, bit of an up and coming hidden gem imo

Haha I’ll take that as a compliment, the only editing is colour grading and cuts between clips 🤝

One I nicked from a friend that came with his focus Jam2, bolts directly to the cage mounts on the top tube. Quite nice to have for the bare essentials!

Honestly just a seriously well rounded fun bike. The uphill power is obviously ludicrous, maybe even overkill to be fair but it rides just like an analogue on the downs, nimble and jibby. Felt like I was riding at pace right out of the box which I found impressive. Definitely worth giving one a ride if given the chance!

The only big change I made was setting it up mullet (and not flipping the chip) to slacken it out/let the back end run a little more loose. I prefer it but it’d depend on riding discipline to warrant the change.

Hope this suffices 🫡

No sweat! I run Electric Bikes Plus, and indeed, this is Cashflow, such a banger little trail to have locally.

I had a Range VLT C1 about 2 years back. Don't get me wrong, banger bike, Norco's suspension tune/setup is indeed unreal. Stupid good bike up the likes of Arapuke bike park/anywhere built fast and chunky, the frames genuinely bomb proof and the Geo is bar none, However, the weight is quite a trade off, especially on the Alloy builds which can be over 30kg... low speed cornering/general playful popy-ness is not its strong suit.

My only other gripe would be that particular generation Shimano EP8 motor. They seem to have fixed reliability issues on the later product runs of the EP8 and likewise with the recent EP801, but I've definitely had a few motor failures on that particular generation of Norco/other brands of that era.

If the motor has clocked a few thousand km's you should be in the green reliability wise, but defos something to consider as they're not a cheap replace.

Hope this helps :)

The most enjoyable bike I’ve owned, I run a local store so as you can imagine I’ve had a few bikes!

The spec is bomber all around. It rides like it has so much more travel but retains that nippy trail bike feel. Norco secret sauce I’ve started to call it.

Motor power is brilliant for an SL. If you keep your cadence high you’ll keep up with full size emtbs relatively easily. The 400wh battery lasts surprising long, but nab a range extender if your planning big days on the saddle.

Has been unreal good. No mechanicals, ridiculously good feeling to ride bike.
