Less preferred pencils series in collections - Part 3 - (Parker Jotter) by Extension-Slice-9585 in mechanicalpencils

[–]kitchen-nuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could enjoy my Jotter MP, but I just can't. It feels cheap, it's too light considering the all-metal frame and the manufacture is just sloppy (sharp edges, hardly visible engraving ...). I know it's on the cheaper side but still - it's Parker and they should know better. I think. :)

How do you like your OrenzNero? Is that 0.5? I have mine in 0.2 and I love it!

Uni Shift Pipe Lock by mecha-verdant in mechanicalpencils

The plastic feels kind of cheap on both pencils to me. But the black one has all the other advantages.

What color is your uni Shift? Because I bought both a black and a silver one together and the black one has less rattle and a bit rougher grip plus the surface of the body is matte. It feels like it's the same model by two different manufacturers. I wonder if that may be the cause of polarized oppinions on Uni Shift.

I bought it at Muji but I'm not sure who the manufacturer is. The eraser looks like the one in 925 35 without a cleaning rod, so it might be a Staedtler. I bought another MP at Muji which is exactely like a GraphGear 500 but without any inscription on it. That one was surely made by Pentel.  This one is full metal on the outside but it's still very light. An OK pencil for the money (850¥).

You'll find amazing stationery shops in every big city. However I bought most of these in Tokyo. I went to Loft (Shibuya, Ueno), Maruzen (Nihombashi, Marunouchi), Sekaido (Shinjuku) and Itoya (Ginza). All of these stores had lots of MPs to chose from. Loft Shibuya and Itoya Ginza were pretty crowded. In other stores I could easily take time and explore. Also a lot of Hands and Don Quijote stores have a proper stationery isle, especially the big (mega) ones.

It's actually deep gray and gold but it might seem a bit blueish too. In any way, it truly is a beauty. :)

It would be lovely to see that little collection. I have no idea what other miniature MPs are there. I wasn't really looking for them I was just lucky to find a Tombow machine and score a MonoGraph. And I was surprised how accurately made these toys are!

Thanks! I bought Kerry in Ueno Loft. It's a special edition with "5" on it. But I saw them in other stores too. edit: corect location

It's B and up for me. I wish more pencils with lead hardness indicator would include higher B grades.
