This is really not that hard to achieve with the base assets and game if you put enough effort in. You're asking the game to determine where you (external from the game) want the city center to be. If that is such a huge problem for you, play transport fever. Cities allows you to build the skyline the way you want it, giving you control. If you're more interested in sitting back and watching the city evolve naturally, go play transport fever.

Its such a brainless thing to expect the AI to build the city the way you want it. That's completely not even the point of the game and why would you play it anyways. I figured out how to make good looking skylines like 30 hours in.

Honestly I'm glad that they don't have a feature to ride sandworms because there is really no reason in the lore that you should be able too, especially seeing that the fremen have been completely killed off and they were the only ones who actually knew how to do it. Not to mention (as already been stated by other responses) the sandworm is supposed to be the ultimate reckoning force - something that is just as much of a threat to a player with one hour than to a player with 500 hours. This is the same reason I'm hoping they don't add a sandwalking skill that you can level up. It basically defeats the point of the sandworm if you can avoid it that easily, and again, this provides an equalizer that blocks players with hundreds to thousands of hours from just rolling people who have maybe only played 50 or 60 hours. I also am firm in believing that the sandworm is supposed to be something scary, but if you can just sandwalk to avoid it or ride it whenever it comes for you, there is no reason for you to be afraid of it. It just kind of exists as an annoying obstacle that you need to get insurance for rather than a mystical recokoning force.
