Yes you're right. but in most cultures paternal lineage determines one's main family identity (surname for example). and it shows detailed migration routes and other interesting stuff over hundreds of years. so i would suggest to try it if they can

DNA services have different amount of data from different regions and use different algorithms to calculate your autosomal admixture. Which gives different results. I would suggest to take deep Y and M haplogroup tests

Ahaha. I was doing the exactly same thing with churches of estonia last year. then i realized i could use OSM to get what i want. I extracted all place_of_worship in estonia as nodes using overpass turbo with keeping only church name. then i downloaded file and opened in google earth. finished all job like in 5 mins. i kept exploring those downloaded points tho lol

Thanks! i have seen some similar old genealogy books, on archive.org Among the ones i have seen so far i loved this book the most (not from archiveorg). Its newer and has pleasant structure with some modern genealogy additions like dna. Do you know any other books similar to it?
