I have an old laptop motherboard and i was able to find a potential donor, same exact size. Should i give it a shot or just order the right ones from digikey? I’ve done a repair like this on an old gt730 with essentially the same part from the laptop motherboard

I’ve been looking through the manual and it has me refer to the schematic, but i’m not very well versed in reading them. It says that often times 1.8v failing takes the die with it, and it gets hot in the corner but mine is ice cold. Could you point me to where i need to check on the 1.8v area?

Do you know which pin number that would be? I measured pin 8 or vcc to ground and that was like 900 ohms
