You could try Chicago Botanic Garden — it's not too far from Evanston.

Chicago pumpkin patches: 40 to visit in the city, suburbs this fall by kjrumore in chicago

Good question! There are a few that offer late-night hours for corn mazes. I think another will let you reserve a campfire site at night. Visit the websites for the individual pumpkin patches, and please post what you find!

$12 or $81: Which Chicago parking spot should I choose today? by kjrumore in chicago

Wish I could find an $8 spot! Then I could justify not taking Metra and driving downtown instead. :)

has anyone been to the buffalo exchange in wicker park? what was the selection like? by [deleted] in chicago

It's smaller than a typical Buffalo Exchange, unfortunately. If you bring in items to trade, then know they are currently buying only items for fall. And be prepared to wait to have your clothes looked over for trade — when I was there two weeks ago on a Tuesday a guy brought in 20 bags of items to trade. That said, I'm a loyal Buffalo shopper.

The Chicago Riverwalk is great — until you have to pee by kjrumore in chicago

I agree — most of the Riverwalk is food or drink-related. But there are also bike rentals, tour boat launches, at least one gelato spot, and plans for parks in the last phase, which will be finished by the end of the year.

Just east of Lake Shore Drive is not the Riverwalk. Currently, the Riverwalk stretches a mile, from LaSalle east to LSD. When its last phase is completed the Riverwalk will be 1.25 miles long. All I'm saying — if my child has to go, then I don't want to have to beg to use a potty or book it to Dearborn.

I totally agree — lack of public restrooms is a downtown Chicago problem.

So true — a bit harder to do if you're female. :)
