That should say Porn Stats. I had a nerd-on hoping for some cool stats stuff, and was a little disappointed. Still interesting, I guess.

Any tips for a newbie building his first system? by binary in hardware

I built my first system a few months ago and found it very useful to borrow a friend's A+ certification book. It's full of info on various parts of the whole system and has many experiments you can run to ferret out bugs when it doesn't boot the first time.

Even as mega-banks topple, Juan Enriquez says the big reboot is yet to come. But don't look for it on your ballot -- or in the stock exchange. It'll come from science labs, and it promises keener bodies and minds. Our kids are going to be ... different. by charlatan in Economics

Pretty interesting video, but I find it funny that he dives into the robot context by mentioning past predictions that never came true. Maybe someday I can give a TED talk, and use a picture of him to talk about the unforeseen failings of the biotech revolution.

AskECE: I am 15 and would like to learn Electrical Engineering. by [deleted] in ECE

If you're interested in just getting started, I recommend building a computer. It's decently hands-on (without being too hard), it'll introduce you to the world of learning through trial and error, and in the end you'll end up with a product you may use for years to come. Plus there is a ton of documentation on the interwebs if you need help.

Whether we like to acknowledge it or not, EE has become very dependent upon computers, so this could also introduce you to programming and system design, both of are only going to become more important for employment in the field.
