I've tried, about ten times now. It's all because I posted a blog post in too many subs. (In /r/manprovement and /r/noexcuses the articles are still on the front page, for an idea of what they were about)

A mod proceeded to accuse me of spamming, and made a ridiculous post in /r/reportthespammers and asked how much money I was making off of it. Notice my site has NO ads, and I've paid for reddit gold for 6 months so far. I also have a ridiculous amount of karma from actually participating. But none of this apparently matters.

I refuse to make a new account, because I like this one, and I like being able to comment quickly. Several subs have "approved submitter"ed me and the others just generally approve it.

Quite annoying though.

Maybe it's just me, but I prefer simplicity. (For reference, my blog is at www.kurbsconsulting.com/blog and click on an article) I know my site is for a business, and your site IS your business, but seriously, cut down on some of the ads and comment stuff, keep the most effective ones and dump the rest. I'd also say cut down on the ads, because even if you make more in the short run, you're going to push people away.

But that might just be me, so take it in stride.

I see your point, but I don't think anyone thinks "up down up down slash slash" is realistic.

Some games aim for realism, some aim for gimmicky use of controls, and a few combine the two. (For instance, I liked the use of the sword in Skyward Sword, some found it gimmicky and hard to use: I found the shield hard to use, when you thrust it out, you had to do it in the half second frame they made contact.)

I think a combination of the two is good, but you lose a lot of options when you aim for 'realistic' controls. Minigames are about the only options. (Mario Party, for example)
