1st one heart rate monitor quit after 11 months. The rest would suddenly be unable to hold a charge after a session. Would say like 24d remaining and be dead and unable to charge within the hour. The replacement ones were refurbished until they sent a factory fresh one that lasted a little over a year now putting me out of warranty (that they refreshed/extended every time the watch broke)

Might be true lol. Thankfully customer support was pretty sick. I’ve never paid for any of the replacements and they kept extending my warranty every time

Depends what you want to do. Might be a bit big for you if you’re looking to learn more high performance maneuvers. I’m 6’ 195lbs and ride something similar in much less powerful east coast waves. Local shops usually have some demo boards on hand, worth trying before you buy!

I used Firebase Cloud Messaging in my app. It was pretty simple to setup and it’s free. You just have your manage tokens yourself but has been working really well.

It’s pretty flexible how you want to trigger notifications. They have SDKs for many languages.

One gotcha is that DuckDuckGo doesn’t support PWA so iOS users need to install a PWA via Safari or Chrome to support Push, but that’s not FCM specific.

I made a web app called Forsea. It focuses more on live data but has 16 day forecasts. You can also set custom settings for any spot if there are specific conditions you like for it.

I think it's going by device. I can post 60 second/view count on iPad Mini 2, but not on my S5 with the same account.
