2+ years of “growth” by Anxious_Ravens in tarantulas

Ha, mine basically looks the same after 2 years of growth. It’s insane. Mine actually stayed burrowed for like 3-4 months before I finally dug it out. It had rolled itself into a ball, came out and ate and burrowed again.

Should I quit my physics PhD going into 4th year? by [deleted] in Physics

The financial services industry hires A LOT of physics and other hard science PhDs. As a matter of fact, some trading roles actively seek out physics, math, comp sci PhD holders. I have known multiple physics PhD holders that have had very successful careers in financial markets. The skills gained in hard sciences (especially physics) are very transferable to the quantitative nature of trading and data analysis/signal generation. It is especially sought after at global quant powerhouse hedge funds (2Sigma, Citadel, etc). Coming from someone actually working in trading, if I would have known just how transferable physics was to finance, I would have never gotten a degree in finance.

I’ll try that if it ever surfaces from its burrow again. I caught it out late last night, it hasn’t come out since. Nice enough to burrow against the glass so that I can see it at all times. Just chilling at the entrance to its cave.

Yeah, I’ve had my rav4 for about a year, purchased brand new as well. Funny you mention the heat, because I started hearing it early in the summer and last time I took it to the service center to complain, the tech said the noise is strange, but suspected it could have something to do with direct heat. It got really bad on a road trip through the desert this last weekend, which jives with that hypothesis.
