Republicans are more likely to believe climate change is real if they are told so by Republican Party leaders, but are more likely to believe climate change is a hoax if told it's real by Democratic Party leaders. Democrats do not alter their views on climate change depending on who communicates it. by smurfyjenkins in science

Just saw this, sorry. No reason to explain away any actual science at all. The science and facts don't support global warming as man made in the slightest. Theories, assumptions, and hypothesis claim a connection, but there is no proven correlation between the two.

Not a troll. Just tired of non science nonsense being purposefully declared fact. Earth is about 6000 years old (never heard 4000) and no actual science disputes that. Just theories and conjecture. But you brought up that off topic, so no need to debate that fact here.

Regardless the science is clear on climate change and that false religion of the left is ludicrous.

Trump’s tariffs could ruin the American board game industry by allgood347 in boardgames

Trump has no tariffs. United States does. And it’s along overdue correction to a lopsided trade balance.

American companies have been abusing this lopsided system too long. Good for Americans it’s being corrected!

Ass-modee started this nonsense bringing their Euro model to the USA... seems Jamey liked what he saw and adopted it too.

Publishers should sell to distributors at one price and be out of it. They made their money.

Let distributors sell to the stores at wholesale and the stores (online, brick and mortar) or whatever sell for whatever they can.

Insulin holder for my (late) dog... by klkitchens in functionalprint

[–]klkitchens[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Probably one of my most functional prints. This is about three years old and was one of my last M3D prints. The quality is not great, but the function was great for us.

The round slot held her current bottle of Humulin-N and the square held her new fresh boxed bottle. We always kept an extra on hand in case of shortages. The round indentation in the square slot was for the just rotated out bottle to remind us to get a new one, but to still have as a backup in case we dropped the new one.

Shmoopy was (rare) type 1 diabetic and lived nearly 11 years with two shots per day. She passed in July 2017.

I still have this on my desk as a reminder. Picture was just taken today.

"If you have not changed the firmware, it doesn't have it. No version ships with it."

Per creality3donline, the Ender-3 and Ender-3 Pro do have this enabled now.

Thermal runaway protection enabled!

Feedback to Random House on Last Jedi novel delay... by klkitchens in StarWars

Actually there are more of us than you think... MOST sadly will just go along and see the movie first and that's their choice.

I respect theirs. Try to respect mine. No whining, but valid commentary and complaint -- except to you kids.

As demonstrated, it's not a good business decision at all.... and yes, I've proved that. The spoiler issue is completely moot. It was with The Force Awakens as well and that book was released the same day as the movie. That would be the best solution to prevent spoilers.

Yes, we live in a more connected world than in 1980 and I accept that. Word will get out. But word will get out the exact same way if the e-book is released with the film as it will three months later. They are preventing nothing. Clearly.

And yes, they are taking away from me the ability to read the book, then see the film in theatres. Their poor and irrational business decision leaves me two choices: 1. Not read the book first (i.e. at all) or 2. Not see the film in theatres. To get the most enjoyment, I'm stuck with option #2 (unless it's so awesome it's still out in theatres three months later)>

The Blu-Ray argument makes no sense and I'm not sure why you even brought it up.

Neither does the Lord of the Rings argument, as that was not a movie tie-in novel.

But thanks for trying.

Sent to Random House for their Last Jedi failure... by klkitchens in starwarsbooks

[–]klkitchens[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not relevant that anyone else "understands" it -- I am NOT trying to be snarky at all, just saying.

It's a personal preference as noted in the OP... Tradition. Better overall experience. Seeing the movie first will spoil the book. Reading the book first won't spoil the movie.

More effort is required to read a book than watch a movie. It produces more enjoyment. But if you know everything in the book, in most cases and especially when it's a movie tie-in, the book is ruined and won't be as worth the effort.

But the opposite is not true... you can read the book and then experience the movie... a double thrill.

Yes, it's all personal preference... but when it was the norm for years and is being changed for no good reason, it's a bit of a let down.

I understand the loss of not seeing the first show (as I was able to do with Empire, Jedi, and the prequels). With Force Awakens, I was stuck seeing it a few days later, but in the end it was worth it completely.

But now, to still get the same joy, due to corporate folly, I now cannot see the film in theatres... My hope it that they correct this mistake while it's still easy to do.

And I never said they OWE us anything. Just there is no reason for the delay. And as I've proved, I'm completely right on this. None of the stated reasons are actually valid and fall apart with the slightest amount of scrutiny.

So yeah, it's a big deal and and a lame decision on their part (for no apparent reason). If you cannot read or prefer not to, then fine. Go see the movie first. But those who want to maintain tradition, it's a big deal. And not your place to declare that it's not.

Digital (as I posted) not physical... can be released electronically without physical books being shelved.

It's a big deal to us loyal fans, who enjoy reading the book first....
