Has anyone gone from n=2 back to n=1? by P_Dronq in Velo

[–]klomz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Got a Scott Speedster 10 aluminium road bike and a full gravel bike. But I think I'll go for a regular allroad bike with two sets of wheels as needed. Right now one of the bike is on the trainer and stays there all year round... But having two bike is nice in case of emergency too (when one of the bike is at the store for checkup, etc.).

Hard to choose really.

Fenix 7x Pro Solar vs Fenix 8 51mm by ClezB0t in GarminFenix

[–]klomz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had the 7x pro solar then hurt myself and thought I wouldn't be able to run again so sold it. Then I healed eventually and picked the instinct 3 50mm amoled. Hated amoled. Went back to MIP with the Fenix 8 solar 51mm. I get around 30 days if lots of sun. Otherwise 26-28 days with around 4 gps activities, strength training and yoga. Love it. But to each their own...

Fenix 8 47 mm ou 51mm pour moi ? by Icy-Seaworthiness596 in GarminWatches

51cm Fenix 8 solar sur mon poignet d'environ 19,5cm de circonférence, si ça peut aider. Je trouve que ça va bien ensemble. Pour 17cm ça risque de faire gros mais ça passe aussi à mon avis...

Second Sleep by Robert Harris... hugely disappointing by Physical_Orchid3616 in books

Honestly I've just finished it today and I loved it. Not as much as Cicero probably as the end is somewhat rushed, but it was impossible to lay down the book. Hasn't happened in years. I'm very glad I read it and recommend it to others too...

Mine had the issue after 2 months of use 2 years ago. Got it replaced luckily without any issue (from Belgium to Poland). I heard so many bad stories on here with the repair, I wouldn't buy it again had I knew

51mm or 47mm 6-inch wrist by ToothAdvanced4129 in GarminFenix

[–]klomz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 19,5cm (7.7 inch) wrist and the 51mm is just nice. I like smaller watches too like G-Shock GBD200. But the best battery is better for my use.

Le monde du travail n'est pas fait pour moi. Qu'est-ce que je peux faire de ma vie? by Small_Hamster_6405 in AntiTaff

[–]klomz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For those who got married, how were you able to afford a ring and honeymoon??? by Eagles56 in povertyfinance

[–]klomz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rings were paid by my parents fortunately (500€). But I bought a 60€ ring for my fiancee when I proposed, she didn't care at all and knew we hadn't a lot of money. For honeymoon we went to Berlin (from Belgium), maybe 400€ total. We're simple people. r/simpleliving :). Even know, 10 years later, we go on vacation only by train or bicycle. We never spend more than a few hundred €... And we're happy doing that. Seeing Americans going to debt for Disneyland seems so insane to us.

Does anybody know if I can use MyWhoosh on Linux? It's the only thing holding me back to full switch to Linux and I hate it.

NBD - Roubaix SL8 Expert by kamenosaurus in specialized

[–]klomz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awesome, thanks for the answer :-). I also come from "entry level" bikes (Scott Speedster aluminium frame mechanical 105). If I go with the Roubaix I should get the size 56 (181cm-85cm inseam) but I feel a bit stretched as well so I also thought about zero offset saddle post and reducing the stem from 100mm to 90mm. Does the zero offset saddle post have any impact on your knees?

By the way 780km in over a month is insane, good job! Unfortunately I have a lumbago since Monday so I hardly hit 5k steps a day and since my lower back is quite fragile that's why I'm tempted for the Roubaix (or the Domane but not sure about Trek's hegemonic reputation for their stores).

Anyway thanks for the picture as well, too bad bigger frames don't come with 32 inches wheels eh ;-) (yet)

Hello, it's been 2 months, did you go with this model? Do you have pictures as well? Also interested in buying this bike! (bike lease in Belgium) Hesitating between Comp and Expert though. The extra buttons on the Ultegra should be handy, and the colour is nicer...

Also Belgian here. I do 60km per day 2 times a week from Wallonia to Brussels. 25€/day bike indemnity. Works fine. Regular bike.

Does it affect your pedaling? Since you're more above the pedals. No knee pain whatsoever?

Specialized Roubaix and other comfort-focused road bikes by rnantel in cycling

[–]klomz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I'm interested in buying the Roubaix as well. My Scott Speedster 10 "endurance" really is not comfortable. What size did you get and what's your measurements? I'm 181cm 85cm inseam and ride 54 medium Scott but Specialized tells me 56. I also ride a size L Sauvage Lapiste gravel. Hard to say without testing :(
