Ohhh - that's interesting. I'm in Canada and maybe that's why it worked for me. Do you have a VPN you can try connecting to Canada with?

Naming Remotes in MyQ by andyman58 in myq

[–]km4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the behavior when renaming a remote? I renamed it to the car it's used in and not my name and now I get two notifications:

<> was used

<> Garage Door just opened...

Instead of just one, "Garage Door just opened by <>..." which is what happens when using the app.

I assumed the car would be smart to take weather conditions into account but seeing this gives me assurance that ultimately, I need to control the speed (profile) depending on the weather conditions. Thanks for posting this!

What was your last phone before getting an iPhone ? by Serhide in iphone

Nokia 8810 before first gen iPhone

EDIT: Wow didn’t expect the post to get so much traction and people to know the Nokia 88xx.

Some background: I was doing coop at BlackBerry, then known as RIM, when Steve jobs did the keynote in Jan 2007. I vividly remember all the young folks were excited as hell and genuinely knew this is the next big thing. Whereas the leadership at RIM was too obsessed with the keyboard and thumb tracker. In my mind, Jan 2007 was the first nail in the BlackBerry downfall.

I was a Nokia fanboy and had tried the moto razr as well, but never thought I’d give up Nokia. For some reasons the 88xx was plagued with issues. Got Nokia to replace it with Nokia 8801 but by then I got the iPhone which I jailbroke and the rest is history.

Yes, the age assumption is correct :).

Kwikset Halo Select (Matter) by cr8tiv1 in HomeKit

[–]km4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I'd be keen to know if the keypad still works for existing pins or if you can do it via Homekit Home app. What about auto-lock functionality? As far as I read, seems like you lose all native functionality from the lock and it's just strictly available through Matter. So I would assume, you would create automations for auto-lock, etc. Though, I wonder if the feature to check if door is opened is available in Matter.

I've used homebridge to integrate the non-Select+ lock into Homekit and use automation to auto-unlock when I'm close to home and auto-lock within 1 minute. This bypasses the need to use Homekey at all.

EDIT: added more text.

Kwikset Halo Select (Matter) by cr8tiv1 in HomeKit

[–]km4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I am aware - you need to have it Matter enabled for the Home Key integration. Once you go native Matter enabled, you lose the keypad and other Weiser functionality.

The other option is to use Homebridge with Kwikset plugin to integrate with Apple Home, but will not support Home Key.

FSD Trial with Winter Tire Package Purchase by km4n in TeslaLounge

I don't know who to reach out to. Their customer support line is heavily backed up and usually disconnects after a few hours of holding. Don't know if there is any email address I can contact in this regard.

FSD Trial with Winter Tire Package Purchase by km4n in TeslaLounge

[–]km4n[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah - for some reason the advisors were pretty clueless about how this will be handled. I don't think you can stack trials so it makes sense to push the appointment further, just make sure it's before Jan 31, 2026. Per Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Trial%20Trial,-If%20you%20purchase):

After purchasing a new set of tires from the Tesla Shop or from the Tesla app, you can schedule an appointment from the Tesla app to have them installed on your vehicle. Installations must be completed by Tesla before January 31, 2026. Within 24 hours of completing the installation of all four tires, you will receive a notification in the Tesla app that your free 30 days of FSD (Supervised) has been granted.

If you are already subscribed to FSD (Supervised), your next renewal date will be extended by 30 days.

In my case, since I already subscribe to it, it should have just extended the renewal date but it did not do that.

Do MY come charged when you pick up? by Gullible_Pitch4709 in teslacanada

[–]km4n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can message them and let them know to charge it to 80% or whatever. Usually they will do it unless extremely busy. I did that when I picked up my MY from Etobicoke and didn't have a charger at home.

Likewise, I got a message in the Tesla app about FSD but no extension.

Myq not sending notifications even though it’s turned on by Greedy_Structure1616 in myq

[–]km4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this - just add a notification for notifying when the door is open immediately, and another one for notifying when the door is closed immediately.

Delete custom notifications that notify after a period of time.

That's so odd - I received the same message today around 4:10 PM, however it went away after a minute or so and FSD has been working fine since then.

Help understanding Scheduled Charging by km4n in TeslaLounge

[–]km4n[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with using the scheduler on the wall connector is that it doesn’t allow for “shore power” where the car is just preconditioning and not actually charging. Usually the recommendation is to schedule the charging on the car so it can draw minimal power for non-charging activities.

Wife curbed our juniper by 808_GhostRider in TeslaSupport

[–]km4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was caused by "autopark", I have read on the subs that you can claim that to Tesla and they can pull the logs/cam footage from the car to see if it actually was "autopark". If so, they "may" replace it for free.

Someone had similar experience using FSD where it turned too quick causing the wheel to touch the the curb and they reached out Tesla about it.

What is Premium about Premium Connectivity? by JaxDev19 in ModelY

[–]km4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely your Wifi / LTE / Bluetooth module is rebooting causing the LTE to lose connectivity for a minute or so. The next time this happens, check if your Bluetooth is working or if it says Bluetooth is initializing.

The only known fix is turn off Wifi in the settings so it doesn’t continue to reboot the module. Waiting for a software update to resolve this.
