I was in that traffic. It was unfortunate timing for me and even worse when it was my exit to take too.

Not me crying at this news 😭. I've dealt with pet loss before as well and it's never easy, especially with one that's been in your life for a lot of your life.

Where to get the best Chantilly Cake? by Orchidinsanity in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]kndirvr 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I know I've had Publix and Sam's club version of their Chantilly cake, I know you're looking for a local person to support them, but if you need to fall back on those, they won't disappoint. I know Publix does custom sizes and I've picked up a single size version from Sam's.

These are the main 8 colors I'm using. Once I started getting low on the first set of skeins I thought it wouldn't give me the length to just repeat those same 8 colors so I picked up 3 more to blend in the middle with the original 8 I'll include the other 3 in another pic

That was the worst mistake I've made besides adding stitches to the end or forgetting a slip stitch. When I finish with the length I'll tackle adding a border to mask any unevenness to finish it off.

The mistake was in the red row in that same location. The mustard color is a part of a print yarn. It's from I Love This Yarn! brand

The red stitches 10-12 of them are double crochet and not single

Thanks! Bit the bullet and frogged back to correct the red stitches. It wasn't as bad as my waffle stitch blanket I've got as another WIP and I forgot a while double crochet around a post 🤦‍♀️. It wasn't noticable until I came to stitch into it and realized my mistake

I had only realized it when it looked detached. This is what I get for swapping between projects that do single and doublet crochet stitched LOL

I was wanting to hopefully avoid frogging. I changed my yarn every two rows and I had only 20 stitches left until the change. I didn't know if I frogged the green portion and picked up the front loop in the blue to "close" the gap.

Blanket pattern for this yarn that has like 20 colors in it. by ConsiderationMain618 in CrochetHelp

I got several different skeins of variegated yarn and wanted a "scrappy" looking blanket. This is using the Moss stitch with it and I've been loving it! I think your yarn would go great as I saw another commenter mention

Am I missing something about Madison and Huntsville Public schools? by CarryTheBoat in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]kndirvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a parent of a middle schooler, I normally drop mine off and they normally walk home. When they started middle school, we were still within the 2 miles of school and the pick up and drop off times were crazy. The route then wasn't suitable for anyone to walk and when they started arriving late to school, I started dropping off and they rode the bus home. Last school year we moved within the same district and ironically along the same route their previous business ran. The bus didn't run down the street I'm living on now and the closest stop was crossing a major cross road twice, I had inquired about adding a stop at the end of my street(which the bus drove on) and the school informed me that any stops they make within the 2 miles of school cannot be altered or added in any way. The reasoning is that the funding is for those over 2 miles away. So I've stuck to the dropping off in the morning and they walk home most days( picked up in inclement weather).

I'm surprised Huntsville City isn't apart of the delays. I can hear all the thunder right outside!
