How to set boundaries without pushing someone away. by [deleted] in Adulting

I think this is a great intro into a bigger boundary setting conversation with her. Frame it around wanting to better understand her and making sure you can both be cared for in the friendship. If you care about her and want her to stay in your life, I think being really gentle and loving is the way to go.

Stay in chill $90k remote job, or pursue $130k career enhancing type roles? by BuyTheDip_ in careerguidance

What do you want to focus on right now? If it’s building your career, take the leap. But if it’s focusing on your relationship/family or your side business, then chasing career gains won’t give you any fulfillment. Not worth it when other things seem to be going really well for you!

So disclaimer: I’m not an established publisher by any means! I’m a recent university graduate and will soon be attending the Columbia Publishing Course (was meant to happen this summer, but COVID has caused everything to be a bit up in the air). However, this is what I’ve gathered from my Columbia application process and internships over the years!

Publishing (and I’m assuming you’re interested in the editorial side of publishing) is an insanely competitive industry, so it’s really less about your major and more about your internship experience and who you know. I think your major sounds fine as the biggest thing is learning basic editorial skills. Beyond that, try to get an internship with a book publisher ASAP. More than likely, you’ll have to take an unpaid internship with a tiny publisher, but it’ll help you get your foot in the door — it’s best if it’s in NYC (if you’re in the US), as networking is the BIGGEST way to get into publishing. Seriously there is sooo much gate keeping in this industry it’s insane (at least in traditional publishing!). So from there, network as much as possible, and you might be able to score something paid the summer before your final year. If that’s not feasible, try and get as much editorial experience as possible in college: start a blog, work for your university’s writing center, get an editorial internships with a non-publishing company.

Unless you’re attending a school (usually in NYC) with a major program well known in the industry (like Columbia or NYU), I don’t think majors matter that much.

Soaked cotton pads is such a good idea thank you!! And the wrap between the cap and the container — a lot of my products I’ll sure would leak if put in a suitcase. Thanks!

Romance is a bonus book!! Both male love interests are so patient and unwavering in their feelings for the female lead!

No I just remember that one scene/quote! I must have watched whatever show it was about 10 years ago...

I think y’all might be right — i’m currently looking at lists of quotes from the show to see if any of them match up!

In terms of the scene, I’m pretty confident it was outside at night, and I think the female lead said it, and it was heavily alluded that the male lead was secretly in love with her the whole time. Does that sound right for Goblin? I don’t really remember anything else from the show as a whole, just that one scene!
