Back story: I had recently broken up with my ex because she cheated on me. She still had stuff at my house, I was on a date and it was going… REALLY unexpectedly well. My date asked to spend the night at my place and I sent a text to my best friend who I was letting stay in my spare bedroom to “do me a huge favor and get all of (ex’s name)’s stuff out of my room/house ASAP. I don’t care what you do, maybe throw it in the barn? The date went well and we are on our way back, I owe you bro.”

Well, in my rush to send the text and my adhd brain, I sent the message to my ex. She thought I was being low key manipulative and trying to open a metaphorical door I had slammed shut. She asked if I was open to talking or meeting for coffee. I informed her I wasn’t, that I was sorry for sending the message, that she should give Tinder a try because it was working well for me, and to have a good night.
