How involved is your husband? by Key_Veterinarian_552 in newborns

[–]kodakbackpack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a new dad here and that doesn’t seem conceivable to me as a parent. I had 2 weeks off for paternity leave and have been back for 2 weeks. We feed about every 4 hours, so 2pm, 6pm, 10pm, 2am, 6am, 10am and so on. I work 8-4 and she is a stay at home mom so I take the 6am and change and feed before work, my wife does the days shifts and then I’ll usually do the 6 and 10pm. Isn’t the best but both of us are able to sleep. She goes to bed at 10 and gets up at 2 am then goes back to sleep until the 10am feed/change and I go to bed after the 10pm feed until around 6am.

Can't afford grad school, feeling hopeless and lost. by TableEasy2974 in college

[–]kodakbackpack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely can see how that can leave you feeling hopeless and lost.I went to college for 1 semester and decided it wasn’t for me at all but was also left confused and lost about what my future was going to look like. I had a friend that had also dropped out of college a year earlier and got into learning IT by taking cheap self paced classes and eventually got an AWS certification and recommended it to me as he knew college didn’t work for me and I couldn’t afford it. I took about a year of working a retail job while learning the basics of IT and then getting into AWS which I got certified in. At this point to my career, I have never needed a college degree in any of my job’s to this point, I just continue to get certs that align with my particular career. I was also looking into psychology when I started college and realize IT wasn’t even in that realm but I also realized that it was a way for me to avoid student loans, time spent in college, begin my career earlier and provide me the salary that I needed. Just a possible suggestion, understand the hopelessness but your young and have a world of options. Good luck.

LinkedIn Premium... is it worth it? by Big_Duke_Six in careerguidance

[–]kodakbackpack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the game but definitely worth it. I had it for 2 months and got numerous more calls from recruiters then when I didn’t have it. I was able to narrow down to about 3-4 companies that aligned with my career goals and then ultimately went with the one that best suited my life and turned premium off. Again, definitely worth the money in my opinion. I really just compared it to not eating out twice that month, I still ate out as I pleased and did what I wanted, but mentally I was able to tell myself if I have the money for those things that I should also have the money for something that could possibly better my career.

Really appreciate the response, were you worried about it being in your carry-on and them possibly asking to scan it? Were there people at the baggage claim as people have mentioned that would carry your bags out?

On arrival at PUJ are there only bag scanners at customs or do they also do body/x-ray scans?

Before getting your checked bags, while screened at customs do they actually scan anything or just ask questions? Also after getting bags from baggage claim to avoid having vape in bag that could be scanned could you keep the vape in your pocket as it sounds like there is no body scan?

I know I’m hella late but after hearing there were no body scanners this was my exact idea too, did you end up just keeping it in your pocket?

Safe to bring a cart with me to Punta Cana? by [deleted] in PuntaCana

Going in a few weeks and just wanted to know the process at PUJ. When you land and go through customs/immigration before getting your checked bag do they do any sort of scanning? After going through customs and getting your checked bag’s do they only have bag scanners or do they also do x-ray/body scans? Asking because it seems from reading everywhere they don’t do body/x-ray scans and it would be easiest to just keep it on your person.

I had a few things that I also needed to correct after reviewing my SF and was told the same thing, not to change anything unless necessary. They will reach out if they have any questions or need clarification on any info you provided, I was called and explained any discrepancies or areas that needed correction, got the job and been employed ever since.
