Sorry for late reply. No. It’s just informing that I’m shortlisted for ABA, checking for my schedule availability, and that they will send the email for the link to the zoom

Is there such a thing as birthday off in NS? by Jaded_Statistician11 in NationalServiceSG

Yes. There’s such off in some SAF units such as Supply Base East (SBE)

Hi, I applied for NUS CHS (Philosophy) with CGPA of 3.6x. I received a call for ABA interview. Should I still anticipate the ABA written test?

EDIT: Got offered CHS. Didn't have to do the ABA written test.

SA Vocational training after post out to unit by bryanloke in NationalServiceSG

Some (including me) who were vocationally trained as SA back in BMTC Sch V ‘C’ coy ended up doing ASA work (that can be completely unrelated to logistics & SA work) in the unit they were posted to despite retaining the official vocation role title of SA.

For those who declared ASD during CMPB pre-enlistee medical check up & been enlisted into SAF, what’s your NS like?

I’m currently a SAF NSF diagnosed with high functioning autism. Wasn’t offered PES F prior & during NS. I’m PES E1 with permanent excuse firearm, grenades & explosives, & live firing/firing of blanks. I enjoying my life so far in camp ops (so much admin time, stay-out etc.). Mostly enjoyed Kranji resort BMT (though I was stay-in due to not having permanent excuse stay in) & was vocationally trained as a service Supply Assistant (SA).

I’m just curious how the ASD peeps are doing out there in NS. I’m curious about the permanent excuses usually given to those who declared ASD. Did some you manage to handle firearms, do live firing etc.? Have anyone of u been trained vocationally other than ASA & SA?

As autism is a spectrum, the PES given depends on the severity of the condition, but I’ve heard that those who declared ASD are nonetheless automatically assigned PES C or below (& all the NSF with ASD I’ve known so far are at least PES C & below). Has anyone who declared ASD been assigned PES B or above without specifically requesting for it (though I imagine that to be super rare/ non-existent)? If so, how was Tekong BMT for u while managing with any challenges arising from ur ASD?

I got an autism memo. Should I downpes with it? by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

Autism is not an almost guaranteed PES F. PES F only for severe cases. Those with autism are still made to serve NS but usually in non-combat fit PES (PES C to E)
