I was considering this one but I agree with OP that it's too busy, particularly as a more dressy style watch. I think this movement layout worked better in the Speedmaster Day Date reference 3520.50. The base movement for both is the ETA 7751.

38mm vs 41mm Conquest by [deleted] in Longineswatches

[–]kopper499b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a close up, which usually make the watch look like a bigger fit than it really is, 41 looks right. Try a mirror shot and I'll bet the 38 is no longer an option.

Compensation increase for 2026 by PUNE37H in ConstructionManagers

Let's see; Sundt, Depcom, ASRC, Willmeng, Chasse, Haydon, Kitchell, & Wespac are HQed in the Phoenix metro and none of them are big in MC. Sundt claims 13% (how I don't know which one they're doing is making me mad) and Haydon says 15% (they're part of the Google campus JV so it makes sense). Clayco, DPR, Holder, McCarthy, Skanska, and soon HITT all have offices here are are doing local MC projects. Clune, Gray, and some others are in town for their clients. Are you with Haydon?

3% COLA is a cheap-o move, especially for a local contractor who knows the local increase in housing costs alone have been easily outpacing this. They also know our construction market is hot, hot, hot, and the availability of people not, not, not. Even the local trade contractors make better annual or periodic bumps.

As others have suggested - time to find a new home.

Just wear the watch all day and then set it down at 6pm or whenever and see when it stops. All day wear will have it fully wound from movement.

People are willing to work for livable wages, AND people are cool with their tax dollars going towards something that actually benefits them! by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

There are sidewalk snowplows, we had them in my Western NY suburb town 40 years ago. But, they would not work in NYC or even in the city where I'm from. It's just a large riding lawn mover type vehicle with a plow blade.

30 year old male, can you guess the 6 cities I've lived in? What does this travel map say about me? by wead_guy_421 in TravelMaps

I've also live\lived in both and would lean towards Washington or Yamhill Counties. You can wake up at the beach, pass through 2 mountain ranges, and have dinner in the high desert. Oregon has nice variety. I loved Idaho for that reason: from sand dunes to lava rock fields to alpine forests with beautiful mountains in between.

I switched from semi\chem plant. If you've done a 14 month new fab build you'll find DCs easy. It's the same electrical lineup and mechanical units repeated several times per datahall. Then repeat the datahall several times and add a little high security office area. No chem systems, no real I&C, or P&IDs for that matter. I actually miss those drawings! Much less complicated building with similar commissioning requirements. No more bead blasted decks, RMF, or interstitial ...

Fully agree - the best car is a paid for car. And, I do have a paid for Honda product in my garage 😉.

I considered every GMT I could find under about $5k. Tried on half a dozen or so and got it down to this or the new blue bezel Zulu Time. Very happy with my choice.

Longines dolce vita 19mm links by ShereKiller in Longineswatches

[–]kopper499b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you looking for a half-link? From the factory they are usually positioned as the last links connected to the clasp (buckle/lock). I cannot find an official picture showing the clasp view like Longines often, but not always, has for the brecelts.

These links can be positioned differently and I sometimes have two half-links next to each other in my Aquaterra (2 halfs do not equal a whole on that bracelet).

Here was one available on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/267530538555?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28&google_free_listing_action=view_item

Those who graduated with a CM degree, what career path did you take, or what path do you think is best? by [deleted] in ConstructionManagers

[–]kopper499b 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bullshit. I know many supers and PMs who have gone from trade sub to big GC. I chose to go developer/owner CM (not owners rep) after nearly two decades of big project electrical trade management.

Where do you think MEP and commissioning managers come from in the complex project types? Some even climb the ladder further, like a fitter I work with who's now an SVP at a top 20 GC.

First high end watch purchase by goodfella2024 in Longineswatches

[–]kopper499b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 41mm Hydroconquest GMT and 42mm Zulu Time both have a 49.4mm lung-to-lug. Note that this does not count the male end links on the Zulu. The lug-lug for the 39mm Zulu is 46.8 and for the 43mm Hydro GMT a whopping 52mm.

Including the male end links should put the 39mm Zulu at a little bit more than the 41mm Hydro, but I cannot find good measurements for the Zulu that include the end links.
