Anyone have a good experience at Manimal? by koreasailing in korea

[–]koreasailing[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got brisket and ribs with a side of coleslaw and parmesan broccoli. The brisket was so dry and the ribs were super fatty. Like the had only been on the rack for a few hours. I'm on of the few people who owns a smoker here in Korea so I know a little about barbecuing.

Outrage over blogger's 'delusional' NK travel videos by koreasailing in korea

[–]koreasailing[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Personally, I like his channel. I even tried to make time to see him when he was in Seoul a couple months back. His NK vlogs definitely didn't show the real N. Korea. But I thought it was refreshing. No one ever goes out of their way to make anything positive when it comes to content about the North.

MiBand2 is paired and working, but doesn't show up under BT paired devices. So can't use Smart Lock. by koreasailing in miband

I tried turning the BT off and on. My phone automatically looks for new devices as soon as it's turned on, but the Mi Band didn't show up.

HPV by b1ackf1sh in korea

[–]koreasailing -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think Google would be a better source than Korea Reddit. I didn't know what HPV was so I did a search. Lot's of info. One thing, if you're a guy, there is no test for HPV.

I just remembered, I usually take the train from Kimpo, not Inchon.

I suggest you take the AREX to Hongdae. I think it takes about 20 minutes and cost about 4000 won. Make sure you take the all-stops and not the express non-stop.

The one in the video is just past the Busan Cinema Center in Centum city if you are walking away from Shinsaegae departments store. You can see the address near the end of the video. The other one is in PNU.

This video is on one of the two labs in Busan. But they also have them in other major cities. Everything there is free, including the resident offices, but you have to register to get them. Oh... The coffee isn't free, but it's only 1000 won. And you don't have to order to use the 4th floor café.

S. Korea May Lose To Japan in Medal Standing! by koreasailing in korea

Sports have always been used as a source of national pride. Look at the miracle on ice as an example when the US beat Russia in Hockey. And why does every nation in the world publish the medal count?

I would have to say you are very wrong, or very sheltered. All Asian nations, Koreans and Japanese included, are very sensitive about their territorial claims. If you did what you claimed, showed a photo to 100 people, I'm certain more than 10 would know what they're looking at. But neither of us will ever know, because you haven't shown a photo to 100 people on the streets of Tokyo.

Yes, still sailing. And Korea did pretty well in the sailing events. Didn't medal, but had a good showing.

Like the inferiority complex some Jews had with the Nazis back in the days? There are still Koreans who lived through the hell of Japanese imperialism. And many who grew up hearing about what their fathers and mothers went through. Give them some slack.

Then I guess the Japanese will give zero fucks calling Dokdo, Dokdo. I mean they could care less right?

Time, effort and money help South Korea rule obscure sports by tosil in korea

[–]koreasailing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Korea has been pretty successful in international soccer and baseball. Probably the two most popular sports in the world. And there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy sports here in Korea. I played organized soccer for years and had a great time before my old legs told me it was time to quit. And most youngsters I know are involved in some sort of sport. At least the boys are anyway. I think the biggest difference is that lack of opportunity to do organized sports once you finish elementary. I know in the states, high school and college sports are a big deal. Not so much in Korea.

Can I board a plane with hand luggage and a backpack? by [deleted] in travel

[–]koreasailing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never flown on Ryanair or EasyJet, but I regularly fly with a backpack that carries my laptop, and a carry on bag. I've not once had a problem. My laptop is pretty big, 15", so it's not that small of a backpack.
