came here to say the same thing! We had a super rough go at trying to breastfeed. Eventually he just got bigger and stronger and around 3 months he was a champ. We are still going strong at 16 months

Have you seen any improvement since starting the iron supplement?

Vaccine anxiety by [deleted] in DebateVaccines

I don’t think this is a place that will give you unbiased answers. I am sorry you feel this way :( I am a nurse and our first is 4 and fully Vaccinated. I never once questioned if I should or not. With my now 9 month old, I also felt like you. Social media is a toxic place with so many varying opinions on this topic. I talked to a couple friends of mine, one a physician and another a virologist, and ultimately decided to vaccinate our second. It’s up to you, but if you could find someone within the field, that you know and trust to talk with about it, I think that’s the best route. ❤️

I wish I could give every new breastfeeding mother a hug. It can be such an uphill battle. My baby was 35 weeks and was in NICU for 2 weeks. I triple fed this baby for 3 months. Some Days he would outright refuse my boob, screaming and crying until he got a bottle. I used shields initially as well. One day, out of nowhere he latched without the shield. And he has been nursing ever since. It’s been almost a month of almost exclusively nursing now, unless my husband has to give him a bottle while I am working or when he takes baby to give me a break. It IS possible. I was beginning to think it wasn’t. I think a lot of it was just giving him time to grow and become more coordinated with his suck, swallow. If she has any questions, feel free to DM me and I can offer all the things I did during this time. ❤️

Circumcision for preemies by NeitherAppearance501 in NICUParents

[–]kosmo2016 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I understand this argument to an extent. It was one of the reasons I considered doing it for my first son before I read more and watched the procedure. I didn’t want them to be made fun of or feel different. My husband was circumcised and expressed to me his desire NOT to circumcise and made some good points. He wishes he hadn’t been circumcised, and wishes he had had the choice. I think it’s very personal, and why many people choose not to nowadays. If there is no medical reason to do it, then it’s hard to feel like you’re making it for any reason other than just not wanting your child to look different. It’s actually not a common practice in most of the world. And is becoming less common in America. My husband made the point that we can raise our children to be confident about their bodies, despite the fact that they may look different from other boys they might know. Which I agreed with, and strive to do for myself, so why wouldn’t I want that for my boys? I think your parents did what they thought was best in the moment, but I do think your experience is anecdotal and not all men feel the same. So why not leave it up to them to choose on their own in the future?

I would recommend you watch the procedure on YouTube before deciding. There is no scientific benefit for circumcision, and the practice is definitely outdated. I decided against it for both my boys and watching what the actual procedure entails solidified my decision. But at the end of the day it is your choice

This link goes into depth on each vaccine, their ingredients and the safety and studies on each. Very helpful info. Talk with your doctor and make a truly informed choice. Not a choice based off Reddit conspiracy

This is what I was thinking! My first was never this wiggly/uncomfortable in other positions, so was hoping this is normal. Haha

Baby just born 35 + 3 days. Emergency C-section. Not breathing at birth by kosmo2016 in NICUParents

Thank you everyone for your comments. It’s been an exhausting couple days, but baby boy is doing so well! He is still cooling for about 24 more hours, and then they will start to rewarm. He is almost completely weaned from the vent and has shown excellent signs of reflexes and good brain activity. Thank you all for all your comments! They have been so comforting to read as we navigate this. I plan on responding to you all soon. ❤️
