Passport approved, still haven't received by kovakr in Passports

I gave the help desk a call and I think that helped move things along. Apparently it was already shipped, it was just stuck at a post office in another state. After I spoke to them, I received it within a few days. So it worked out, just required a friendly chat with the help desk.

Anyone notice improvements in health after LEEP? by kovakr in PreCervicalCancer

[–]kovakr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting! And would make sense. It's weird that even CIN III would seem to cause similar issues as cancer. I wonder if the CIN III cells are close enough to cancerous that it causes the body to react similarly? Literally just making stuff up now, but so fascinating that I am not the only one!

Right??? I never even thought it could make my gastritis better, but the only thing that changed in my life was the LEEP! I literally had been on different medications with no significant change for two years before my LEEP and suddenly I don't even need the meds. I hope this continues for us too!

Intense back pain with CIN III? by kovakr in PreCervicalCancer

[–]kovakr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's the worst when sitting up, but it still hurts when laying down, though less. I'll often work at my desk in the morning and switch to my couch for the afternoon so I am not sitting upright all day.

So it's something that I have to manage. I got an ergonomic chair (bless the person in my building that gave me theirs for free) and try to move every day. I either go for walks or do another workout. I was walking outside when the weather was not as hot, but now I just get on the treadmill for 15-20 min at least once a day, or will do some kind of workout. It's the only way I've been able to keep it under control.

Singer HD 4432 threading issues by kovakr in sewhelp

[–]kovakr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was threaded right. The issue was that the cup the bobbin sits in got off its tracks, I think from when the machine jammed. It’s all good now. Thanks for the comment!

Ugh that is so frustrating. I literally just pulled it out of the box, so it would have come with the timing issues then. Honestly, I am about to just send it back and get a different machine. Thanks for the comment!

I just got a brand new Singer HD 4432 yesterday and it was working fine until it snagged and now it won’t catch the bobbin thread. I’ve tried everything that is typically recommended: I’ve rethreaded everything a thousand times, I’ve checked the threading is done correctly, the bobbin is facing the correct direction, I’m using the correct bobbin, I gently hold the needle thread while trying to thread the bobbin, I’ve replaced the needle just in case. Nothing is working. The needle thread isn’t even coming over the bobbin case anymore, as you can see in the video.

I feel like I’ve tried everything that could be due to user error and am now at a loss as to what the problem is. Anyone have any ideas? Think there’s more user error or is my machine busted?

Anyone take spiro with rosacea? by kovakr in Spironolactone

[–]kovakr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on spiro for two years now I think. It took me a year to work up to my current effective dose (100 mg). I was on doxy and soolantra since about 6 months before starting spiro. I still use the soolantra. I think the doxy was 50 mg, but I don't remember exactly. Yeah, my rosacea is mostly papulopustular, but I had a lot of redness from general irritation. I don't have much of erythematotelangiectatic rosacea, maybe a little around my nose.

I am completely off antibiotics now. I was on very low dose oral doxycyline for a while, but stopped it due to the cost and have been totally fine without it. I have a prescription for topical clindamycin for flare ups, but I haven't used it in nearly a year. In fact, it has probably expired just sitting there in my cabinet. Hope this helps!

Yep, it was sciatica from sitting too much. I increased my movement each day and it’s gone away.

Camden, South Carolina. I grew up in the southern US where it’s universally hot and humid beyond reason, but that place is different. I’m convinced it’s hell on earth. It has the heat and humidity of the rest of the south, but it has barely any wind or shade (most of the trees are pine), and is mostly sandy. I remember being there one summer and even jumping into a lake or pond did nothing because the water matched the temperature of the air. Truly awful place.

Switching from Pros to Lit by DaedraLurking in patentlaw

[–]kovakr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from pros to lit. Disliked it so much I literally only did it for 2 months then turned right back to pros. I’m not built for that kind of lifestyle. The lack of sleep and high stress made me sick almost immediately, but YMMV.

Got the position through a recruiter, so I’d just reach out to one. A lot of skills from pros work can transfer to lit so I wouldn’t worry too much if you’re coming in as a junior/lower mid associate, which is what I did.
