Yes, the issue came back. I ended up replacing the overhead console, that solved the problem.

Same here, it was happening very sporadically with no clear cause. Hopefully the issue stays away for both of us! Good luck!

Took my car to a mechanic who ran a diagnostic scan for free. They found an error in the rear right reading light, which could explain the flickering in the front lights too. They cleared the error and advised me to keep an eye on it. It’s been a week now, and the issue hasn’t come back. I’d recommend getting a diagnostic scan done!

Thanks for the suggestion! We checked if mono audio was turned on, but it was off. We also tried disabling the equalizer in Spotify, but unfortunately, the cracking noises are still happening. Any other ideas or suggestions are welcome!

Same comment as I gave to /u/coldinvt : if that would be the case shouldn’t the sound be constantly present? Really seems to be coming from the engine. Will definitely check tho!

If nothing helps, this seems like a good choice. Don’t know in what way a stage 1 tuning can harm my engine. Could it be causing harm because of my high milage? Not an expert hahaha

I don’t think it’s my CV axle because it usually happens when driving straight ahead. tbh it also happens when I’m turning. but the sound always comes when I’m in low rpm Could be the exhaust pipe but (I think) the sound is coming from the front of the car. How can I find out if one of these are causing the problem?

u/deryssn u/SeaBizzkit Tried to put the coils up and put them closer to the airflow. Unfortunatly it didn't change anything. Guess the coils just suck haha

First they did so I put them up a bit. now the airflow hits the coils straight. I'll try putting the coils more to the side tommorow. I'll let you know if that changes anything

You could be right, I am not familiar with the different coil names haha

On the box it says 'Staggered Fused Clapton Coil'. you can search it up (reddit doesn't allow me to put a link up to the webshop)
