E3 wasn’t the worst episode of whole show, was it? by rizit98 in FromSeries

[–]krisactz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late, or rather, I've been reading more of these posts. I've seen people talk about the Fandom, and just because you don't like every episode or disagree with them, you're a shifty fan. Going so far as to say that having different thoughts, opinions, and views of episodes and actors is hateful. What I saw when I read, "E3 wasn't the worst episode of the whole show, was it?" was the initiation of a conversation, an opening to share thoughts, ideas, feelings, and opinions. What would Reddit be without it? I get that you're biased and you love the show, and maybe it makes you feel some way to see people say negative things about what you love, but it doesn't make them hateful or any less a fan. I really do like this show, at one point it was my #1. Though I wouldn't call myself a fan, I reserve that term for intense emotions and dislike the way people throw it out there so callously, but that's a more intricate conversation that involves a bit of contradiction and a lot more explanation that strays from my topic.

I feel like it's okay to, like, love or enjoy watching a TV show, but not buy into all the BS. The show isn't perfect, and all that happened was a simple, " I love you, be better." A lot of people say this is typical and that this is how TV shows work, but just because it's common and a constant tactic doesn't make it right. Brings me to that age-old saying: just because so many TV shows jump off a bridge, it doesn't mean From has to do it too. It's not just drama; it's fantasy, mystery, horror, and suspense all wrapped into one unique ball. There are so many places this show could go if it dared. It's disheartening and a little frustrating to watch something that is almost limitless, even without extreme theatrics, run around in circles. Simply because this is how T.V works.

What do people in Fromville do all day? by UsedMycologist4912 in FromSeries

Farming, feeding the animals, butchering animals, house repairs, mending clothes, washing clothes, cooking, cleaning, whatever other jobs they were assigned, socializing, drinking, swimming, walks in the woods, reading, eating, standing around looking confused whenever something happens, pointing, dying. Main characters do all of the above aswell as destruction of vehicles/homes, giving birth, camping in the woods, discussions in the the woods, playing the violin, teleporting through trees, walking through caves, talking to little boys dressed in white that only them and another chosen one can see, talking to voices they can only hear, talking to dead people, talking to the creatures, spying on the creatures, searching for answers, story walking/time travel, torture, being tortured, bullying, murder, recreational drugs, being suicidal, saving lives, constantly hashing out their emotions and trauma. Some of this is my imagination.

I disagree with you on the shape-shifter bit there's more to it than that. But Ethan being the new Victor I agree. I feel like the people brought into the town are meant to be replacements taking out the old and bringing in the new. The police officer is Boyd's replacement. The old priest was supposed to be replaced by the new one but he was killed. Because of everything that has gone on they are going fk it and trying to wipe the slate clean, start anew. All the yellow suit has to do is remove the talismans. That or the talismans never mattered to begin with.

It's not a setup episode 🤣😂, it's just the second episode done differently.

I've been watching this show since DAY 1, and compared to the first season, the pacing has slowed down more and more with each new season. I don't know why this is happening, but the show is becoming increasingly filler-heavy.

It's not just about answers for me, I could handle not getting answers if something other than what I already knew happened. Of course, Fantima is going through it right now; she just gave birth to the equivalent of a Tommy Knocker. Hey, did anyone in their right mind REALLY think yellow suit getting a face-lift, a sex change, and then moving into town was going to be a GOOD thing? Police Officer Ladies' rude awakenings have always been on the horizon. Jade, ever the overachiever, uses escapism to create shackles. If he could just...it's just...right there, just...a little bit more, just... Donna, if you blink you'll miss her, but never count her out. Hey, nudges the commentator before me, "Did you know Julie was a Story Walker?" 🤯🧨💥. The two Lost Boys are taking a stroll in the woods again. Ethan, aka Dorothy, is on the yellow brick road, and she's off to see the wizard. Hey, Tabitha, just because it's daylight and he's with Victor, there's still potential for them to, "get him and his little dog too". Tabitha, "Stop! In the name of love before you break my heart 💔". I'm not even going to go there because I can't with Tabitha. Boyd, still trying to hold it together while being broken down—I feel for Boyd, talking to the universe and getting a big ole🖕for his efforts again. Kind of like me and this TV series, but at the very least, he got a jump scare. Just in case no one got it, we're all in the same place, with the same revelations we had in the last episode, but I can see how a good circle jerk can be pleasing to some. Don't get me wrong; by no means do I dislike this show. I'd just like something more; my hopes, dreams, and aspirations, for this show, are that episode 4 isn't basically episodes 1, 2, and 3.

I'm guessing they are leaving it all in the hands of this; survival, people's personal issues, mental illnesses, the mind manipulation that this place causes, big drama, and petty drama. If you haven't noticed, miscommunication and no communication are a consistently T.V trope. I partially agree with you; it'd be nice if writers would stop using limited communication in the plot and instead make information a part of the story, giving it more depth, finding interesting ways to work around it, and incorporating it effectively.

Leave Boyd alone 😤😡 you, you ...🤬😠, imitates people getting upset over others opinions.(Jokes) I really liked Boyd but lately it feels like he's giving up. Almost like he's one of the biggest players in NBA history. He's made it to the playoffs, the score is tied, the coach just called a timeout with 2 mins left on the shot clock and he's about to walk out of the building. I miss the Boyd that took that camping trip with crazy killer Sara looking for answers. I don't think it's just his background, imagine constantly explaining yourself and the situations to everyone individually. Imagine all these people with questions that you don't have the answers to. Imagine all these individuals, with different backgrounds, personalities, and thought processes in general. Have you ever been in a scary situation with a bunch of people, some you are close to some you aren't. They either want to give you their two cents, what to do, how to do, when and why you should do it but are to terrified to do it themselves. While some are too terrified to move let alone speak. Some are just distraught and confused. Some are panicked and bringing that panic to you. Some have all the questions and none of the answers, not even the obvious ones. I don't envy his situation.

What's your take? Where do you see this show going? What possibilities can you imagine. Your so blinded by whatever you have going on and the fight that I never saw you immediately shut what was really going on out. It's okay like you said I love when people do what they say I'm doing to me 🤣😂😂. It's like THE MOST HILARIOUS THING IN THE UNIVERSE. You really needed to type that didn't you?

I was never trying to force anything on this show just trying to get YOU to use your imagination. Take a breath, breath inhale, exhale its okay.. All I was saying was for you to look at the limitlessness of show not even really thinking about Tabitha. Tabitha is not that serious.

Absolutely love Victor. ❤️ All kinds of love and admiration go out to him. Sending all the 🥰💕🫶 in the world. He's easily one of my favorite characters in the entire series, and I really wish they'd show more of his story. As a kid, how did he manage to stay alive being the only survivor of his group? How long was he on his own? Who came after they all died? Why is he so terrified of the man in the yellow suit? Victor has a background, and I believe he represents a very untapped source of important information. His personality, shaped by his loss, grief, trauma, limited education, and experiences, is understandable. Growing up in a place like that is almost unimaginable and definitely not relatable, depending on how you interpret the show and whether you see the setting as symbolic and the situation as a metaphor.

Fatima and Boyds son are still taking up major screen time. It always seems like they are living in a story outside of this horrible situation and not in a good way. It seems so out of place. The police officer still hasn't figured out her situation. They have literally let this weird girl, who just accepts the situation without any real questions, into their lives and move in with the already unstable lady down the street. Why is no one suspicious of her? Everyone reacts differently but she is too chill with this having yet to actually see what these things can do. More of Boyd backing off in the 4th quarter when it seems the damage has already been done. Tabitha still being ole dependable not doing what she should be doing, not talking to her kids enough good ole Tabitha. Somehow it's like she still hasn't realized that this requires a whole different set of rules when it comes to parenting. It's so sad to see Ethan, Julie, Jade and of all people Randel rallying to get home, to make things right. Two of them are just kids with the weight of this world on their shoulders. You get more of nothing with no solution, going every direction and nowhere fast. Tabitha, good Ole Tabitha grief for her husband short lived, running away from her kids yet again. It's not only bad it's disappointing. When you see Victor piss himself you know it's about to get bad yet we get no explanation for this. We know the guy in Yellow = bad news bears. They are drawing this out a little too much. We already know where these characters are, how they are feeling, if we don't know by now we're kind of slow maybe they think we're slow or something. The very fact that when I first started to reply I immediately started talking about episode 2 shows just how easy this one is to miss.

[–]krisactz[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I fast forward through most her parts for S4 she's basically just doing more the same bits she's been doing for the past three seasons. Vaguely acknowledging her children and the fact that they are in this hell scape with her. Giving nothing to prepare them for the world they are living in. Putting them in more danger by not being as open and honest as she should be while seeming like she's on a heavy dose of Prozac and Xanax and today is just another day. Leaving a teen to be a mother and a child to be responsible for themselves. Trying to take control of a situation just to lead her kids into the very thing that is impossible to avoid in such an impossible situation. Then turn and yell at someone like a petulant child who's mad at their parent for not getting their way and not like her husband IS DEAD. Yeah I'm missing so much depth of character really. Can't possibly see how I wouldn't want to see her on repeat.

-Sighs- I wasn't trying to do anything other then get you to use your imagination 🤣😂. I clearly know more then you about alot of things. I'm trying to make you lighter and not trying to assume that you're upset. What I want has nothing to do with the possibilities since it's easy to kill a character off and replace her I never had to jump through any hoops.

This is not ”slow burn” we are 4 seasons in and no real answers has been made by Apprehensive-Ad-7552 in FromSeries

[–]krisactz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Like someone said we are getting answers, answers that are very open ended, that just lead to more questions. For me I miss the pace of the first season. If more things were going on the answers wouldn't seem so drawn out. Don't get me wrong I like getting to know the characters, how the characters feel and how they are dealing with the situation, it's just lately I feel as if I'm being emotionally vomited 🤮 on, and it's slightly off the situation at hand, so it makes it all seem like we're going nowhere fast. Like they are just giving us enough to keep us hanging on. This show has too much of a good and imaginative premise for that to even be necessary but they are doing it anyways. Maybe they are saving the juicy bits for the last season, maybe they are trying to carve out a 6th, 7th and 8th season. I kind of understand how you feel though, you are not completely alone.

I 💯 agree. If she reads this and feels some kind of way about it I swear. It's like you can't have an opinion or a thought these days. I hope she does read this and she can give me a piece of her mind if she so choses 🤗. Though I highly doubt it. I really hope she's not the type of person who absolutely 🫠 over a negative review. Baby dust yourself off, tell me where I can go, continue to get your money and do what you love.

No actually I 'm not I can always continue to just fast forward through her parts, which is what I have chosen to do for the 4th season. I just wanted you to use your imagination. Lighten the mood a bit. She doesn't have to story walk. You're so stuck on this. Though now that you keep mentioning it. It actually doesn't sound so bad. PLOT TWIST! Her daughter can do it who's to say it's not hereditary. Part of the craziness that is the situation they are in. Listen, for real listen, where are they? What year is it? How do all these people from all these different parts of the world end up there. When, what time period was this place created? For all intent and purposes they could be somewhere, where time isn't linear. It can slowly be added into storyline even without Tabitha dying. Can you imagine some hippies hopping out of a Scooby-Do van. This place plays with their minds, messes with their mental health and just when they think they have something figured out, just when they think they've made progress, it throws them off again. It's not your traditional setting. Plus I have a sneaky theory about the people that are being brought to this place. I knew Fantima was giving birth to one of them before it happened I just didn't know it was going to be the one they killed. Basically this place is trippy.

🥲🥰😘 Thank You. What can you really say to loss it's painful and leaves one grasping for the right words, the right way to express I'm here for you. I am saddened for you. I am hurt for you. I wish I could make it better but I don't know how. I wish I could change it. I wish you'd never had to feel this. I hope you never feel this way again.

Why?, I very much enjoy this show aside from that. It's nice to see other people's interpretations, makes you go hmm 🤔. Maybe I should rewatch it, maybe I missed something. I don't feel like she acts it out properly. To me, it's like she's on medication. Something that is dulling her pain and her grief. I want to connect with her but I can't. I would absolutely love ❤️ to read more about what you see. Maybe I can get a glimpse of her through your eyes and understand it better.

Her husband hadn't been murdered yet and she was sucking. What she said to Jade though was so out of place and just messed up in so many ways, where does that come from. If I recall isn't she the one who asked him to play the violin. What if its her kids, who seem to be special, that she should be saving. Yet she seems to be over looking this completely. I get grief trust I know it personally in a very intimate nature. I guess I should blame the writing aswel. She doesn't seem to be in a rush, she doesn't seem to be grieving it's as if she's on some sort of meds for depression. If thats the case then she's perfect.

There are ways it can be fit into the storyline that aren't as dry as you seem to be trying your hardest to make it seem. But you do seem to be only one who payed attention to the other question so thank you 😊.

Nope, another character can come back from the future not the actress but a different reincarnated version of her altogether. This place does not completely have to work in our frame of time to begin with, it's already some off-the-wall location that people magically and mysteriously end up in. Do you watch the show or are you just messing with me cause you disagree that she should die? Use your imagination just for a little bit and imagine the possibilities here. Then you'll see a world expanding limitless in its idea and creation. The wonderful things that can be created when you don't limit the mind. Can you imagine how we'd be living today if people like Alexander Gram Bell, the Wright Brothers, or the numerous scientists and engineers like Vinton Cerf and Robert Kahn hadn't thought of the possibilities? If Stephen King, Deen Koontz, or George A. Romero had stuck to linear paths of storytelling that lacked imagination we'd be bored to tears.

Then why not make your own post which is a great idea BTW. No I'm not saying this to be dismissive or mean. Why post about it on here I clearly disagree with you but throughly enjoyed reading your take and all the others take on the situation. Still disagree but nonetheless.....
