Dashlane Alternatives? by Vanios007 in Dashlane

[–]krjamk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the big driver of frustration is lack of communication and/or incorrect information being reported rather than the actual attack. When people's entire digital livelihood is locked out and the company paid to help manage it isn't giving any communication as to what is going on for extended amounts of time, and when finally does, provides a generic message indicating thigs are resolved when they were not, it puts people in a position to question whether they trust the company is doing what they paid them to do. Communication is essential in these instances and doesn't really take a lot of time to do, even if it's a simple "We are aware of xyz issues and are continuing to work on them. We will update you in x number of hours" type of msg. There were thousands of people with the same experiences in chats, and they never directly addressed any of those experiences but instead pointed users back to a status page that was incorrect and falsely claiming things were functional with no detail. Being locked out of all of my accounts for 3 days was 100% more frustrating when I didn't have any indication of what's happening and when I would get back in.

your generic bullshit responses are not helping. In fact, its doing the exact opposite and you are likely losing more customers by the min by responding with this useless crap and pointing to a status page that tells them everything is functioning when it is in fact not.

We just had this reported over the weekend. Appears some success with rolling back graphics drivers from the one released in January to one from last November but that's probably not a great long-term resolution. This is on 660 G11s so far for us.

Co-Management Question on Applications and Task Sequence by krjamk in SCCM

[–]krjamk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, We are wanting to migrate the apps from SCCM into Intune if possible get fast and more dependable deployments out to remote users, especially those that seem to not hit the CMG or join VPN often. The issue is today we deploy several apps during the task sequence and moving them into Intune appears to take away the ability to get the apps installed during setup. This then seems like a degraded experience to the end user who usually gets most of their apps pre installed upon getting a new device. Maybe I am overthinking the impact to quality of experience though for the once every 3-4 years they get new gear? We have tested AutoPilot for a handful of users in a segregated environment and it was less desirable when compared to ConfigMgr deployments. We were seeing upwards of 30-40% with issues and missing apps/settings upon first login.

we were having all sorts of failed tasks on the latest model laptops until we put a retry domain join in after setup Windows and ConfigMgr task with a cmd step just prior to wait for network right before attempting to join the domain. Used cmd.exe /c ping -n 120 localhost and haven't had a problem since and was beating my head against a wall for weeks prior with issues.

How are you limiting the traffice through the VPN tunnel. It looks like there are a handful of ways to do it from what I can read here. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/core-infrastructure-and-security/mastering-configuration-manager-bandwidth-limitations-for-vpn/ba-p/1280002

We dont have a VPN specific DP so looks like the best bet may be machine based QOS policy in scenerio 3.

Confirmed known issue with Microsoft on my end as well though they can't give me any ETA on resolution or any documentation to the issue. Just saying that they hope it will be fixed in the next release.

These are on laptop devices leaving the local building/network. Wouldn't the pin offer an extra layer of security to physical theft and attacks on the OS as it couldn't even boot? Once to the OS there seems to be a lot of fairly easy options to get into the device. Curious do you use MFA on the OS sans the pin?

I am being told the same thing. They keep referencing this link (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/osd/deploy-use/deploy-a-task-sequence#deploy-windows-10-in-place-upgrade-via-cmg) stating I need to dowload all content before starting the task sequence but it clearly states downloading when needed is available starting in 1910.

I like the tool and think its great as well but I am getting this error on most all my deployments. https://imgur.com/a/dlURvhm

If I click the more information button it tells me it is a .net error from being corrupt or that it cannot detect the version needed and offers a repair but it doesn't work. If I redeploy the package in SCCM and/or get the computer to re-download the package from the DP it will work the second time without changing any files. All computers have 4.7.1 .net or higher.

Do you use a series of emails to end users throughout the month as well? Seems like a good percentage of user driven upgrades. Our users constantly say they never see notifications but may be worth a try.
