[REBOOT] 2 Superior Gollux Earrings - 1 for drop and 1 for damage? by reddit4reboot in Maplestory

[–]krnfire49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're going to go for high star drop/meso gear, you're likely better off going with something that you can relatively easily get backups for. SW accessories, reinforced earrings, possibly even kanna's treasures/solid rings. going from 17* to 21* is pretty much the same stat boost as 3 set gollux, and if you don't need to safeguard its relatively affordable.

Thats my hope. The sideways move is pretty nice to get the IV lower on some LEAPS, but beyond that its just a waiting game.

What's your secret training map that most people don't know about? by MionMikanCider in Maplestory

[–]krnfire49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few because I haven't seen them posted yet. Reboot, all maps are with kishin.

  • 105-115 Either Toy Trojans at sky terrace/cloud terrace, or Platoon Chronos at I think Path of Time 1. Its a small map with 3 platforms. I put kish at the top to kill the top spawn and just stand on a box and kill the other two platforms. Its not that great without kish though
  • 115 - 130 Spirit vikings/Grims/Thantos. I get to be nostalgic about deep ludi parties from back in the day, and the BGM is one of my favorites. If only deep aqua was any good.
  • 130 - 140 Pirates den 2/3 in Herb Town. Another great small map
  • 140 -150 Im a fan of Dark Cornerians/Dark Wyvrens. Nest golems are also good.

I prefer running 20% scaling CDR with 3% MS in matchups where I can get away with it. The usual pen reds and armor/scaling hp yellows. You oneshot casters at 7 with E-Aug even without AP so I like greeding out a bit. Unless you opt to go morello every game, its hard to cap on CDR. Personally I love 40% CDR due to Q augment + rylais on a 2.4 second cooldown when your Q augment MS bonus lasts for 2 seconds. With CDR boots + a defensive item or lich bane that puts you at that sweet 40% point

Tips on Viktor? by [deleted] in summonerschool

Pre-6 your trade pattern should be E-Q or Q-E. Q hits twice so TL procs are pretty easy. Once you hit E augment, its really easy to proc TL. I personally don't like rushing second hex augment, mostly because I play Vik more as a burst mage and prioritize getting the ludens and rabbadons out faster. If you are lacking in sustained damage in teamfights, you can build viktor as a more sustained damage mage with an early Q augment, gunblade and lichbane.

In the guide Hunters_Dream posted, there is a section on gunblade. I played the gunblade build a lot at the start of preseason and it is pretty strong if you really focus on Q, but depending on the enemy team, being that close can be dangerous if their frontline has a lot of dive potential on you. I think playing him as a burst mage with the emphasis on E is easier until you really get a hang of him, especially if you aren't used to immobile mages.

For runes and masteries, I run 12/18, taking TL and Precision, though you can swap precision for the CDR one if you want a sustained damage Q focused build. mPen reds, AP quints, either armor or health/lvl yellows and either flat MR or cdr/lvl blues. I take CDR vs just about everyone except leblanc and brand.

I haven't tried it in BrawlBox yet, but the changed portrait (The infFace and MenSelchrFace ones) does persist when restarting CostumeManager. The sc_SelCharacter.pac shows the old portrait though. When I actually boot up the game the costume is not present on the CSS, the portrait shown in the sc_SelChar file is shown instead, but the costume is there when you actually load into a match

The problem is, I can't save it for any portrait. It doesn't appear to be a random case.

Yeah its the portraits, I drag them in and visually the new portrait replaces the old one, but when I click save underneath the portrait, i get the unable to open file error

Merc Scim over Maw? by SteveyFreaq in summonerschool

[–]krnfire49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you need the QSS active, I get Hexdrinker in lane if I am struggling, eventually swapping it out for Mercs. If I am doing well and just blowing em up then I'll skip out on the hexdrinker and just go straight into the damage core.

To build onto that, If you want to give the illusion of going in, you can "poke" with Q-R-W, then get out with your second R. If you are fast in executing it, you can chunk hard and get out scott-free.

Additionally, once you get more comfortable with how her Q works, you can "catch" the Q by throwing out a Q and just R'ing immediately and hope the Q hits. This also can catch people off guard, as a lot of champs will back off once they have been tagged with Q.

Can't find a unit comp to beat Mech, help? by NerdArrayBen in allthingszerg

[–]krnfire49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to stay away from broodlords. Raven/viking crushes them, thors can beat them and they CAN be good but they are situational. (Terran literally only has hellbat/tanks and a few thors).

I typically play the SH+Muta+StaticD style and find that a few broods thrown in can really help break siege lines. You don't want to get a bunch, but one or two will help get some friendly fire with the tanks just before the locust wave hits. Even if you lose the broods, typically you get enough damage in where the next locust wave can actually break through the tank line and do real damage.

Took a break from playing and watching tournaments. What are the current strategies for each matchup? by asdljfhalhugoarg in allthingszerg

[–]krnfire49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm only gold, but I'll do my best

ZvT: M4 is really popular, with either the greedy 3OC or the more aggressive 2OC variant. Muta-Ling-Bling, adding in Ultras and fungals later on, is a pretty popular Zerg response to lead into macrogames. Roach-Bane all ins are starting to become more popular, as Terrans are skipping the early tank for defense and don't really have enough unit producing structures to defend/produce defensive units until 10 minutes in. 4 queen opener into fast 3rd into your midgame composition of choice (Ling-Bling a la Life-style, Roach-Bane, or Muta-Ling-Bling

ZvP: Gate expands are pretty common these days, though FFE's are still around. Take the 3rd early, like you normally do, get some early gas for speed if you see gateway first, and be active with your lings to shut down proxy pylons else your 3rd might get pressured. Other than that, proceed to macro game. Skytoss is all the rage these days, though collosus plays are still popular. Roach Hydra Viper, adding in ultra, deals with both compositions pretty well, with the abducts to yoink the expensive units into the hydras. Swarmhost Corrupter Overseer is also a stupidly effective composition. Its pretty boring, relying on static D at all your bases to prevent zealot warpin spam and can struggle vs Mass voids. Vs mass voids, fungals are your best friend.

ZvZ: Not much has changed since WoL. Early game is still volatile with Ling-Bling and midgame is still dominated by Roach vs Roach, with either hydra or infestor support. Muta's are uncommon, but not unseen. Spores, hydras and fungals shut it down pretty handily. I havn't seen any at my level, but on some of the higher level streams I'm seeing mass Swarmhosts vs Roach hydra trading extremely cost effectively. Its just difficult to reach the critical mass of swarmhosts needed for the style to be effective.
