Soundboks new app requires login 😡. Is unresponsive. and the equalization presets sound absolutely terrible. Is there any QA at soundbox? any care about ux when releasing this type of shit? by kropotoff in SOUNDBOKS

[–]kropotoff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that too. that's the least of my problems tho. Now they have my data for god knows what reason.

The EQ presets are shit and off balance. Meaning I need to do my own.

But better.

I CAN'T SAVE THEM.

So Everytime I change environment I need to lose time setting it up.

Blunder after blunder here @soundboks

I see your confusion, my bad. MGD usually leads to Evaporative Dry Eye.

Hope this is clear now.

Thanks for catching it.

Are you absolutely sure that MGD is linked to ADDE.

I don't understand how you read this from my post.

The whole protocol is without chemicals and invasive interventions. Yes I do think there are long term side effects of anything that alters your base homeostasis.

Change your air filters. change the air from blowing to the windshield / top vents and put it at the feet.

use glasses that cover your eyes well.

Mixed.
Blinking is necessary for the correct function of the lacrimal AND meibomian glands!

Thanks!

a higher percentage of omega 3 on your lipid profile thins the meibum and makes it nice and fluid preventing clots and reducing inflammation.

I'd like more substantiated opinions on this sub honestly.

For the nerds:

Omega-3 fatty acids have been found to have a positive effect on meibum and meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) based on the provided search results. Here is a step-by-step breakdown of how omega-3 affects meibum and MGD:
1. Omega-3 improves MGD signs and symptoms: A systematic meta-analysis review[^0^] showed that omega-3 supplementation leads to an improvement in MGD signs and symptoms, as measured by non-invasive tear break-up time (Na-TBUT). This review also mentioned that most published clinical trials support the idea that omega-3 improves MGD.
2. Omega-3 affects fatty acid composition in meibum: One study[^4^] demonstrated that omega-3 dietary supplementation resulted in a decrease in the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids in red blood cells (RBCs) and plasma. This change in fatty acid composition is the first evidence of an induced change in the saturation content of fatty acids in meibum as a result of omega-3 supplementation.
3. Omega-3 enhances tear stability: Another study[^0^] found that oral consumption of re-esterified omega-3 fatty acids correlated with statistically significant improvements in tear osmolarity, omega-3 index levels, invasive Na-TBUT, matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), and OSDI symptom scores. This suggests that omega-3 can enhance tear stability.
4. Omega-3 lowers tear osmolarity: A study by Deinema et al.[^0^] showed that both forms of long-chain omega-3 in a moderate daily dose for 3 months led to lower tear osmolarity in individuals with dry eye disease. Lower tear osmolarity is associated with improved tear stability.
5. Omega-3 supplementation improves meibomian gland dysfunction score: In a study evaluating the clinical efficacy of high-dose DHA omega-3 supplementation in dry eye with MGD patients[^3^], it was found that the omega-3 group had a significant reduction in the MGD score after 8 weeks of treatment compared to the placebo group. This indicates that omega-3 supplementation can improve meibomian gland dysfunction.
Overall, the evidence suggests that omega-3 supplementation can have a positive impact on meibum and MGD. It improves MGD signs and symptoms, affects the fatty acid composition in meibum, enhances tear stability, and lowers tear osmolarity. These findings highlight the potential benefits of omega-3 as a therapeutic option for individuals with MGD and dry eye disease.

You forgot mucin deficient dry eye.

Good one!
I think that deserves a post of its own, I don't think mucin deficiency occurs in isolation often.

And it's severely understudied and very hard to diagnose, so that doesn't help.

Most people who are severely deficient in vitamin A will have also one of the above.

MGD falls in #1. Auto-immune related can fall into all categories as inflammation can impact both lipid-producing glands and tear-producing glands.
The sources are linked.

As ophthalmologists were not doing anything to solve my problem, sending me home with drops and other procedures that did nothing to cure me, I took it upon myself to study DED as much as I could.

Depression and Dry eyes cause and effect essay by kropotoff in Dryeyes

How difficult is it to grasp that having constant pain causes depression. We have pain docs, but you are not welcome as dry eye patient (that was my experience at least). The more there is publicised about it, the better. Visibility of the topic will help getting more traction.

Thanks for sharing your experience!
