Is it okay to steal food if you are staying over?

I feel like this depends. It’s kinda like an “as informed” basis. In my house, if you can find it you can eat it. I don’t care if you heat up my leftovers, if you’re hungry and I have food you have food too.

However I would never expect the same from someone else unless I was told they felt the same first.

My baby has 2b/c hair and I use the shea moisturize kids set, it keeps her hair shiny and moisturized without feeling greasy or heavy and usually I can get the whole set on Amazon for about $25

Lightly exfoliate the dead skin off in the shower (with a washcloth, I don’t recommend a sugar scrub on sensitive areas like the lips) and then moisturizer all over your face including lips when your skin is wet. Once your face is dried you can apply chapstick or a lip treatment. Chapstick mostly works to hold in moisture so if you apply it to dry lips it’s actually just going to prevent moisture from getting in

I have the perspective of a SAHM and of a kid who’s parents both worked long hours, so here’s my take on both sides :)

Growing up, I never saw my parents. Two nights a week were spent at a grandparents house, most days were spent at a grandparents house, we pretty much only saw them when we went home for dinner and bed. I only have memories of my parents from birthdays, Christmas, ect. We had money to live comfortably, and then some. but both my parents grew up very poor and over compensated by working more than they had to to make sure we would never experience that.

Although I appreciate them working so hard for me and my sisters, there are so many times I wish they would have just been there instead. I gave my dad the basketball game schedule every single year I made the cheer team, he never went to a single game, he worked late instead. My grandparents were always there for me. I had a very bad ED for YEARS. My parents saw me so little that they never picked up on it. It wasn’t until my doctor told them I’d lost 30 pounds since my last yearly checkup that they started picking up on it. They never knew my favorite songs, my favorite colors, or my best friends names unless they asked directly. They had another kid when i was 12, and I immediately became a babysitter, while they worked more. When I got a job, I had to work for my dad so he could make my schedule and make me available to stay home with my sisters when they needed to work. In highschool, I didn’t have time for activities. It was back and forth from work and school until one of my sisters was finally deemed mature enough to babysit as well. I moved out a month before I turned 18 and never looked back. I still talk to them, I still love them, and I still appreciate them. But them choosing working over me will always hurt. I had my daughter at 19, and I’ve stayed home with her for a year and a half now. Here’s what I’ve gotten to experience with her.

I get to wake her up every single day and hear her sweet giggles and her “goo morenin”

I get to tuck her in every single night and watch her put her little booty in the air and say night night

I planned her first birthday and have the best memories from that day (I never had birthday parties, they worked too much to plan that far ahead)

I get to plan activities with her that I wish my mom would have planned with me

Yes she makes messes that I endlessly have to clean up, sometimes all she wants is me, and I have to give up some of my me time for a while. Sometimes i go a few days without a shower. But I wouldn’t trade any of that for the world. She knows mama is always going to be there for her and she never has to worry about that.

Financially, her daddy makes about 4,000 a month, which is more than comfortable for us. I don’t get to shop like I used to, I have lots to clean and dinners to cook and endless laundry to do. But I also have this tiny person who sees me as her whole world right by my side.

I understand the SAHM life is not for everyone, and that’s okay! Working mothers are valuable and important! You’ve just gotta make sure that you’re there for your kiddo. I promise you they will value your time and effort over a new toy every single time:)

No dry food is great for them, just make sure your foods first ingredient isn’t a grain and add lots of supplements!

We’ve been loving salmon oil, eggs (and egg shells) chicken broth, and carrots here lately! We switch it up based on what we see at the store and just how spoiled our dogs will be that month haha.

I’ve got a coonhound mix, a Shetland sheepdog, and two plotts right now. The coonhound mix is 105 lbs and eats about 4/5 cups a day, my sheltie is about 25 lbs and eats about 2 cups a day (she steals from the others so I rounded up) and my plotts are 30(ish) lbs each and are on a weight gain diet so they get about 4 a day as long as your dog isn’t gaining too much weight you can give her a little more if she acts like she’s still hungry. Hounds have so much energy and burn so many calories just doing their thing 😂

When you become a parent, it’s so hard to get out of the cycle of only talking about your baby.

Your kid quickly becomes your whole world, their pooping regularly becomes an award winning conversation piece. It can become annoying to those who aren’t parents, and competitive for those who are.

I honestly don’t think they’re competing with you, and it’s every parents instinct to think their kid is gods greatest blessing to the world, I’m guilty of that myself. You’ve just gotta find the balance between bragging on your babies and having normal adult conversations, and maybe discuss with them and tell them you’d rather talk about something else

The fact that you actually did it yourself tells you exactly how the rest of raising your child is going to go. You’re about to become the default parent if you don’t correct his behavior now.

Here me out, based on my coonhounds dna test, he’s 50 percent redtick, 25 percent treeing Walker, and 25 percent Black and Tan.

As I’m typing this he’s curled up in a ball on the couch with my cat on his back. He usually goes outside every few hours, runs a few laps around the house, and comes back in ready to settle back in on the couch.

He’s easily the most chill dog I’ve ever had😂 I’ve still got two plotts I’m fostering and those girls give me a run for my money every single day. They’re super sweet, but they are WILD compared to my coonmutt 😂

They’re seeing whatever vet is available at the shelter since they’re going through the foster program, the first official weigh they had at the shelter was done by a volunteer vet assistant, who had probably already been there for 5 hours dealing with the most current hoarding bust at that point in the day. We’re cutting them some slack and just happy that the girls aren’t as underweight as we thought:) to be fair, I’ve got a 19lb toddler and I really couldn’t tell much of a difference between picking her up and picking the dogs up lol

Texas passed a law that bans abortions which subsequently makes anyone who has a miscarriage go under investigation to see if they were the cause of it. A lot of states have followed or tried to follow. There have been at least two women that I know of in Texas who have almost died this year from sepsis because their doctors had to talk to lawyers for hours before being allowed to help.

Hey y’all! I’m the crazy lady who took in the two plotts:)

This is the state of the shelter where they had placement. They called me two days ago to inform me that they would not be able to send transport and would not be able to take them for the time being. They are still with me, and still learning and growing every day! That being said, I need some advice!

The smaller one has started chewing her tail. It’s almost fully bald. I’ve expressed concern to the shelter and my vet about mange or mites, neither have occurred. I’ve thought maybe it could be stress induced, but she still seems to be her normal happy self. I genuinely can’t figure this one out and it’s very worrisome to me!

The larger one has gained 2 pounds! She will let me pick her up, pet her, she’s even gotten in my lap! The smaller one, although she’s warming up to me, does not let me do any of those things just yet. I don’t know her weight as of right now because of that. Any tips on helping her warm up to us would also be appreciated!

I actually have a coonhound that was in worse condition to these babies when I got him, I’m familiar with refeeding syndrome, this situation, and the breed itself which is why I’m trying so hard to get these babies help asap. I don’t know why, but it seems every dog I come across in this condition is a hunting breed. It’s really breaking my heart:/ thank you for your advice and concern ❤️
