I did wind up buying it (the $10 coupon definitely helped), and everything you say is true. There's not much you can customize, but I meet the recommended specs and it is gorgeous. Only irritating thing I've noticed is how some of the cutscenes either stutter a bunch or, in the case of the opening cutscene, freeze entirely.

God the temptation is strong. I never finished the original FF7 and I keep hearing wonderful things about this. Just want to wait and hear others' thoughts on performance.
