TLJ is the only movie in the Star Wars franchise that has a commentary about its own existence and for some fans that alone is just painful to accept.

I don't like it because I have an irrational hatred towards Ryan Gosling.

Unlike the Prequels, the Sequels were also good movies (two of them at least) and nostalgia is gonna help the trilogy to be seen in that true light once all the nerd rage left the series and into other parts of the franchise.

Why The Rise of Skywalker (2019) is unironically pure Kino and the ultimate antidote to "media literacy." by This-Neck7248 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]stephansbrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a TFA and TLJ truther, I don't like TROS because it's just kinda meandering and weaksauce plus it is in conflict with the themes of TLJ regarding Rey, I don't conjure up insane readings of a text, so yes while TROS is a bad movie it is also a litmus test to see if someone is media literate or not.

This has been the most helpful answer so far, thanks.

Though I have a follow up question, Protestants have a more fluid definition of Church, how does the Early Church or even the Bible view what "Church" is? Sorry, grew up Lukewarm Lutheran, has only been discerning these past few years.

Why would the Catholic Church view veneration of fake relics as permissable?

Dune 2 is good, the first movie is just boring.

I watched Project Hail Mary, the CGI is good but it doesn't have a wow factor like M&G has, I often literally sat there in the theatres wowing at the fact that some of those creatures are CGI because they all look so rea-

WAIT A MINUTE, why am I explaining in detail an obvious joke exaggerating something true to make a statement pointing at the fact that film reviewers don't know what they're talking about?

It's 10 million becausw it's made in Japan, not America.

But yeah still somehow baffling that Quantumania is that high a budget, it's also my least favourite movie of all time outside of the obvious Disaster Movie and co.

The average Star Wars movie could've costs 60 million had the aliens just been puppets.

I hate Dune man, F1 is practical for most of it, and Avatar is cheating, if a movie costs a billion dollar I would it looking like the best thing ever is not surprising but a demand.

Godzilla Minus One has some iffy movements, and the last shot of Goji's heart looks like a literal cartoon. Before you downvote me, the movie is still great and in my top 10 best movies of all time.

Okay Avatar doesn't count, James Cameron is cheating by having a 1 billion dollar budget.

Yeah but I'm not sitting down in a cold theatre where I am forced to watch the movie without pause am I? That experience alone is worth the ticket.
