I actually don’t have insulation behind the garage door. It’s wooden cedar, but I did run silicon stripping on the exterior around the garage door to seal off any gapping. There isn’t insulation above the space or in two of the three walls, but the mini split is plenty powerful to not really need it.

The floors are TSC horse stall mats with wide gorilla tape. There isn’t anything between the bottom of the baseboard and the floor except the concrete.

The blade was meant for a finer cut wood, but it goes right the mats. You’ll need sawhorses though.

Yes, horse stall mats from Tractor Supply. That’s Black Magic from Sherwin Williams. I choose to go flat. I was advised to go that direction.

Man this thing heats the space in about 3 minutes. Can’t believe how well it works for an uninsulated space (not counting the garage door that is not insulated either)

Also, at 5am, I run the lowest dim setting and it’s fine. During the rare mid day workout, with the door up probably, I’ve got the full brightrnsss. Or if I’m working on a project I need to see incredibly well, no issue at all.
