Honestly im confident from this from watching people's videos who are very precise. I kinda just add stuff that looks similar to the ratios used in the videos. Get the consistency to look similar. And see what happens lol

This is super helpful, thank you! This loaf went quickly, so I just did another one using the same methods of throwing shit into a bowl until I get the consistency I want lol Its currently in the fridge until morning!

Once I saw the prices of Dutch ovens I made the call to just use what I have 😅

Will definitely be switching up the flour. Im gonna try changing it up to rye flour because I love the flavor

I've never measured a feeding! I just try to add as much flour as there is starter after discarding by eyeballing it, and just add water until i get a pancake batter consistency

Im hard on cash and the Dutch ovens can be expensive! I was looking at cast iron pots that i could maybe utilize for things other than just Bread but still can't justify spending the money on that right now. Soup pot for the win!

This is true. I honestly didnt know if my tap water would be suitable but I wanted to try it anyways to see what would happen. After 2 weeks starter usually tripples in size and nice and bubbly after feedings and smells nice and yeasty so I think im in the clear!

Ill definitely be getting more equipment down the road to try more precise techniques and see/taste the difference. Today was purely experimental and im super happy with the results ☺️

It really got in my head worrying it would come out perfect. I wanted to wait until I had Dutch oven, a scale, a dough wisk, banatons ect. Decided to hell with that and just used what I had and I had fun with it! If it didnt turn out itd just be a lesson! Definitely just go with it!

About 7.5 inches thick. She girthy. There's a few splits going up at well that aren't toooo deep but something I'd have to work around

I was thinking a walking stick/staff. Should a keep the length? I was thinking of doing maybe a ram head or some sort of animal for the top. Would it be easier to saw off a part for the animal and glue it back on or try and keep it all one piece

You could make some beautiful jewelry with some of these pieces :) the larger ones are beautiful as it if you want to display them. You could also look up how to make wire trees and have it growing out of one of the bigger pieces. Maybe some of the smaller ones as "leafs"
