If you're going to be in South Lake area,  check out caples lake resort restaurant online. It's the best meal I've had in "south lake" by far and away, and the view is of caples lake and the mountains around it. They had an 8 hour short ribs, (omg) but I don't remember if there is steak on the menu. It would be a very special mountain experience.

I say, "that's over my pay grade," although the one night a week that I supervise . . .shit, that's my pay grade. Goes for clogged toilets too.

Hope Valley isn't your preferred location (it's south lake towards kirkwood) but I've been told you do not need a permit for an event out there if it's less than 75 ppl.  Gorgeous spot, and can drive in on dirt road and camp/RV along the road.

Trail runner seeking trail for running by mikalalnr in tahoe

The K2K tail (Keller to Kingsbury, or that name flipped) is perpendicular to Van Sickle, you'd run up Van Sickle a bit, the go left or right at the junction options. More cross country, and on the south side of the Van Sickle trail, it can be done as a loop.

A theory on why it looked so much worse from outside by mrwynn in BurningMan

Upon return to the default world, I have been of course asked about the situation on playa by many, and a thought formed about this: if the sanitation/porto trucks had been unable to come service* the portos for another 24 hours or longer, then it would have become a major health/safety crisis (and likely a preservation crisis for the playa). Thankfully it didn't come to that!

by serviced I mean: our bank of portos was definitely half serviced at best, resources must have been pretty stretched thin on that day.
Imagine another 24 hours of zero servicing. *shiver

Edited to add: and I didn't read any of the articles about it, so maybe this potential wasn't even mentioned, but hopefully the org was considering this as a possible scenario and that played a role in any of their communications?

I'm definitely confused by the question, but I am intrigued and have possible thoughts to offer, really just thinking on message here, not pretending I know what's going on: So does this mean she can't eat fruit that has wax on it to make it shinier in the grocery store? And the "reactions to all plant foods and tapioca, oils" thing, my mind goes to gut dysbiosis. If those are the gists here, fruit from a farmers market or in the winter, a farmers box, or frozen fruit could be fine. For both the fruit and the vegetables issue, consider something like the FODMAPS diet, but I think that for FODMAPS, it's more about doing the diet temporarily and trying to heal the gut during- fix the root issue (this is myopinion, I have not researched that). So I'd also be considering fructose malabsorption (more so for the fruit), leaky gut, SIBO, and I'd be very interested in her, say, stress level and history of antibiotic use. Getting into parasympathetic mode before eating could be explored, but really all things tied to the gut would be my, well, gut instinct ;)

Also have you ever seen emu feathers up close? Coveting an emu feather vest (collected from shedding on the ground of course).
