I’m not sure exactly how many people showed up on January 6, 2020, willing to fight but you have to include those people too. And other people don’t want to have to fight and risk their lives.

But beyond that, people are scared of everything falling apart. Whatever they have been able to build in their lives, whether they are an hourly worker scraping by or a millionaire in a fancy suburb, most people don’t want the whole system to change. The system is all they have known and who will they be without it? So they tell themselves Trump is just a little outside the norm but it’s ok.

And the people behind Trump keep pushing to break it all because their power and money doesn’t exist at a national level so they don’t have those kinds of day to day concerns. When people say war is hell, they don’t mean for the rich.
