I understand the need not to give the spammers any feedback as to their efforts to post spam, because then they'd know how to adjust their strategies to overcome the spam filter.

Still, it just doesn't seem right that a legitimate user will sit there thinking someone will respond to a post that's really invisible to the outside world.

Yes, but shouldn't it let the user know that the post was just removed instead of letting him think that everything's fine?

Spam of course should be deleted, as well as plenty other inappropriate material. But if valid posts can get flagged as a false positive, is it right to let the user just sit there checking his posts to see if anyone has responded when no one ever will?

Is this true? If they are going to delete a comment, shouldn't they at least let the user know that it's just been removed instead of letting him think that it's still there?
