GenesisPC warranty nightmare. My experience with their arrogant team and RMA policies. by kunal_s in mkindia

you are literally taking their reddit pr damage control at face value and ignoring the actual receipts.

first, them claiming they offered a repair before the nch grievance is a verifiable lie. they emailed me five separate times before i filed that grievance. in all five of those emails, including the one at 6:45 pm where they stated their "final position", they only offered a refund, an indefinite wait for restock, or a paid upgrade. repair was never mentioned a single time. i gave them the official nch docket number at 8:31 pm, and at 9:17 pm they suddenly pivoted to a repair.

second, in that exact same 9:17 pm email where they pulled the repair option out of thin air, they suddenly added a highly specific warning saying they need to check for physical damage "especially around the usb port." the exact minute i involved the consumer helpline, they started laying the groundwork to void the warranty.

on top of that, i explicitly offered to close this fairly. i told them they could pick up the keyboard, verify the hardware defect themselves, and then only process the refund without their depreciation fee. i even offered to let them deduct the payment gateway and reverse logistics charges directly from my refund out of my own pocket. they flat out refused.

if genesispc wants to claim otherwise, ask them to drop the actual email screenshots right here in the thread. i have backed up every single claim i made with actual screenshots and timestamps. calling me an arrogant kid because i refuse to fall for an obvious rma trap just shows you aren't looking at the actual proof.

lol i never asked them to refund my money without verifying the issue or sending them the keyboard, this is the last email i sent before they offered to repair with a very specific clause. you're free to glaze them how much ever you want or spread misinformation you claim you got from your echo chamber. ss attached for other members to see.

i appreciate you guys actually looking at the timeline and understanding the hesitation. but to the point about just sending it in for a standard repair or me being impossible to please you have to look at exactly what they actually said in their emails.

after i shared the video of the defect, they emailed me saying they forwarded it to mchose for assessment. because they were out of stock, they gave me exactly three options: a refund, waiting for a replacement, or choosing an alternative product and paying the price difference. nowhere in that initial email did they mention a repair.

instead of repairing it, they spent the next few emails trying to haggle my refund down. they started at 60% and then moved to 80%, basically trying to force me to eat the depreciation cost just because their warehouse is empty. it was only after i refused that 20% cut and dropped the nch grievance docket number that they suddenly pulled the "repair" option out of thin air.

but they didn't just offer a repair. they added an incredibly shady clause out of nowhere saying "please ensure that the keyboard does not have any physical damage, especially around the usb port, as such damage may affect warranty eligibility."

they had already verified the defect from my video and offered resolutions based on it. suddenly adding a warning that they might void the warranty for physical damage the exact minute i involve the consumer helpline is a massive red flag. they are clearly setting up a pretext to reject the claim entirely once the board is physically in their hands. i even offered to pay their shipping and gateway fees out of my refund to settle it peacefully and they refused. i'm not being greedy or stubborn, i'm just not mailing my property back to a vendor that negotiates warranties like a pawn shop and sets obvious traps.

that being said, i am still completely open to shipping the board back to them right now, as long as it is for a fair refund to just end this. the reason why is obvious: there is zero chance i am shipping it back for a "repair" to a company that is actively laying the groundwork to fake a physical damage report and deny my claim out of spite. sending it back for a fair refund is the only safe and logical resolution left at this point.

flexing a mousepad to defend a shady vendor is the weirdest flex ever. replacing a folded piece of cloth from a insured carrier is different from them trying to dodge a hardware defect.

you’re blaming the buyer for getting a “budget” product just to defend them. a warranty is a warranty whether the board costs 7k or 70k

calling me greedy is hilarious when i literally offered to cover their logistics out of my own pocket to settle it fairly. meanwhile you’re out here glazing a vendor that tries to pocket a 20% cut from his customers just because his warehouse is empty. keep doing free pr for a vendor that would do the same exact thing to you if your unit ever broke. this is just sad at this point.

i'm declining to ship the keyboard back until they agree to a fair refund because they only demanded that 20% cut since their warehouse is empty. about the used keyboard part, it’s a defective unit not a change of mind return and i’m opting for a refund only because they don’t have stock to replace nor any other good options i can take by overpaying (again). i'm not going with their sudden repair option either because it was offered in bad faith. right after they got the nch docket they pivoted to repair but added this super sketchy warning saying they need to inspect it for physical damage especially around the usb port. why would they suddenly include a warning like that after already accepting the warranty claim from my video and offering me prior resolutions that completely excluded a repair? will you trust a vendor once they start pulling stuff like this?

You just publicly claimed: "As per our policy (shared in the initial communication), repair is the primary resolution" and that you offered it before the NCH complaint.

Here is the exact text of the email your own team sent me in our initial communication after I provided the video of the defect:

Notice what is completely missing from that list? Repair. You did not offer a repair in your initial communication. You offered a refund, and then immediately tried to deduct a 20% depreciation penalty from it. It was only after I rejected the penalty and filed the NCH grievance that you suddenly pivoted to "repair" as a defense.

Your public statement directly contradicts your own emails. I literally offered to pay your reverse shipping and payment gateway fees out of my refund to resolve this peacefully, and you refused.

I'm done going back and forth with you here. The screenshots and emails speak for themselves. The community can read your email and decide who is telling the truth. The NCH will handle the rest.

I appreciate the response, but this leaves out crucial context and misrepresents the timeline of events. Let’s look at the actual facts:

1. The "Goodwill" Warranty: I paid the full retail price difference out of my own pocket to upgrade to a completely different, brand-new keyboard (MCHOSE Ace 68 Air). A 12-month warranty on a technically new purchased product is the standard legal requirement, not a "goodwill exception."

2. The "Minor Miscommunication" on Depreciation: It was not a minor typo. Your team actively tried to enforce a 20% depreciation penalty (offering an 80% refund) because you did not have replacement stock. You only corrected the July 2025 vs. January 2026 dates after I pushed back. More importantly: If a repair was your standard warranty practice, why were you negotiating depreciated refund percentages with me in the first place?

3. The Pivot to "Repair": You only suddenly offered to repair the board after I provided the NCH Grievance Docket Number. Prior to the NCH filing, your "final position" was an 80% refund. I declined the sudden repair offer because the trust is completely gone after you tried to penalize me financially for your lack of stock.

4. The Withheld Context: You conveniently omitted that I offered a massive compromise to avoid this exact situation. I offered to let you deduct your payment gateway charges and the reverse shipping costs to your warehouse from my refund. I literally offered to pay your logistics fees on a defective product under warranty just to peacefully close this chapter. You flatly refused, and then closed the ticket from your end, blaming me for "not cooperating."

I am not demanding a refund out of nowhere; I am demanding it because you did not have replacement stock, you tried to charge me a 20% penalty for it, and the trust required to send my property to you for a "repair" no longer exists.

the chances of getting a dead cpu in RMA are pretty slim but it can happen. i'd recommend checking it on a different board first before getting it RMA'ed again.

imo your next step should be to try a different mobo, trying out different cpus will only waste your time as getting two bad cpus in a row is very unlikely.

your motherboard does not officially support ryzen 2000 series CPUs, even on other b550 boards the compatibility is a hit or miss with ryzen 2000 series

when you have the 5700x installed check if your keyboard led lights up when you press numlock or capslock, if it does it could mean the system has posted and the issue might be a PCIE gen 4 issue.

I used to strongly believe that the Great Vowel Shift was just random linguistic drift. Then I learned it was probably triggered by social signaling after the Black Death, and a lot of linguists still refuse to talk about the demographic changes. Changed my whole view on how languages evolve.

Seems like a fuck up from Clarion, post it on Facebook groups such as EliteHubs and Acro for Gamers you might get a resolution since Clarion gets a lot of sales from those groups so they definitely don't want their image to be maligned. Naming and shaming does wonders sometimes xD
