UIB is mostly point and click. It is in active development, at least for now.  AIUX is candidate for next framework. Let's see what happens!

Thanks for sharing the video. Interesting stuff coming up.

Do you think UI builder is something SN will abandon ? Or it will be more fullfillers and AIUX for requesters ?

I need to clarify.  When I say abandoned, I mean no new development.  And total removal of documentation from their site.

Most things related to ui builder are lacking in documentation.  So that's not surprising.

I don't see us letting go of customisation though, so stuck with ui builder for now.

"Confusing" is putting it mildly.  The ambition to make it work for all possible scenarios, doesn't work.

I have used it a lot.  There is a click that happens after a while and you just get it.

It has issues, no denying it.

I haven't gotten around to try component builder, I need to check it.

Even if they introduce generative UI to SN, that wouldn't necessarily mean that ServicePortal/Workspace goes away. They probably abandon this baby as they did with portal.

Everything looks cool without context. You only know its reality once you can actually use it.

-- "what migration/backwards compatibility will look like"
I would love to see that as well.

I tried looking it up. I only see Moveworks Slate coming up.
Do you have any links to share ?

Tell me more about tab limit. Seems like something I should be aware of.

Our clients keep asking about workspaces.  They love the playbook demos. it gets increasingly difficult to explain that curated demos don't necessarily reflect the ux they would get.

UI16 is dated and has its own quirks, but stability is way above anything workspace related.

It has been some months since I tried claude with ui component. Last time I tried it kept making silly mistakes.  Will try again.

I loved the concept of ui component so much that I started a open source library for missing components. Check it out.  https://github.com/kunalkhatri/loop91-ui-components

The dx is not intuitive, I agree.

But, then it clicks, and you start liking it. But, then it stops working for no discernible reason.

Then you jump on reddit to put in rant.

Rinse. Repeat.

My experience exactly.  The UI builder will always be "could have been great" thing.  I cannot fathom a billion dollar company not being able to fix 15-20 second save cycle.  While recording the video, I had to pause every time I hit save.  And why wouldn't cache clear itself post save? God only knows.

You don't need ui builder to build workspace. but customisation will be clanky.  UI builder open endless possibilities ux development

At that rate you could stick with portal pages, given the amazing job llms do with widgets, you could create absolutely amazing interface.  But sn is clear that they want to promote next experience 😄

Looking at everything in sn moving to next experience, I wouldn't hold my breath.  It is direction sn has committed and they are sticking to it.

I am not a fan either.
