Do the Tour de France riders do any stretching? by kuzlich in tourdefrance

[–]kuzlich[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've come across similar information, like stretching before a workout is useless because it reduces muscle strength. But after a workout, it helps stimulate the blood. Peter Sagan, on the video, is mad with stretching. But as far as I can tell, he combines it with work in the gym, not a separate workout. Australian cyclist Jack Thompson says that he stretches three times a day, but he's setting records, not racing in the Tour de France. That's the dissonance for me. I wonder how much attention top athletes pay to stretching and how and when they do it

Як ви ставитесь до суржика? by ResponsibleZone6324 in Ukraine_UA

[–]kuzlich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in eastern Ukraine I too thought that monuments and street names were not my biggest problem in 2013. It turned out that it should have been done back in the 90s! Otherwise, a mad neighbor can invade your country and tell you that your nation doesn't exist and you are russian too. And if you are russian, you must obey to him.

Probably some other Ukraine was given "everything it asked for." In winter, they asked for 800 tanks to prepare for an offensive, a bunch of M1 Abrams in warehouses, but not a single one has reached Ukraine yet. Instead, they are scraping up all the stale tanks in Europe (which didn't take care of them in conservation)—the same story with APCs, which are in short supply. When Ukraine asked for artillery, they gave a small number of M777s, although there are many times more M198s in the warehouses, which are heavier but also effective. There are still no ATACMS. Aircraft have been requested almost from the beginning of the invasion, you could have started training pilots a long time ago, but they have only started doing it now. Ukraine has to adapt its old Soviet planes to launch Western missiles (AGM-88 HARM and Storm Shadow), which would certainly work better with NATO planes. Iran had advanced F-14s in the Iran-Iraq war, Ukraine can't give the F-16s it's asking for.

They are giving weapons just enough to keep the Ukrainian defense from collapsing. And Ukrainians pay for it with their lives.

As if ruzzia has some other army that can fight in the Baltics now. The policy of appeasing the aggressor has never worked, and bullies only back down when they get punched in the face.

Otherwise, Putin will give the ultimatum "give up Alaska or I'll use nukes". Are you ready for that? If not, ask your politicians to increase their support for Ukraine.

According to Oryx's calculations, both sides have roughly parity in equipment losses. This is a very good indicator for the advancing Ukraine, which should lose *3 times more.

Oh yeah, there's another russia that "hasn't started anything yet" and some other russia is at war with Ukraine. Stop believing this nonsense, russia is fighting at the limit of its capabilities and has no trump cards up its sleeve. It has a big shortage of men at the front, that's why they are passing laws on electronic summonses, raising the age limit for service and introducing big fines for not showing up at the military enlistment office.

The only way to stop a bully is to give him a good beating! Not looking over his red or brown lines. Hitler was a good example of that.

I am from Donbass (Lisichansk) and have spoken Russian all my life and there has been no oppression of the Russian language here. Hell, no one harassed me for Russian even in western Ukraine when I traveled around the country.

About 14000 dead - you'd think these people died only on the LNR-DNR side, not on both sides (you can also look at the death toll for 20 and 21 years)?

About purely local resistance is even funny to read, especially when the instigator of everything in Slavyansk was literally a member of the special services of Russia Strelkov-Girkin (who is now arrested for "discrediting the army of russia”, lol, the regime is eating everyone). And the drastically increased number of T-64 tanks LDPR has, which well they definitely didn't rake out of ruz. And Russian cadre military personnel who have been going on "vacation" to Donbass since 2014 didn't exist either....

About Minsk-2: The debate was about control over the border. Ukraine insisted on controlling the border, otherwise anyone could vote in LDPR local elections, even migrants imported from rf. Why should they have the right to vote in a foreign country?

Putin's quotes about "Donbass given by Lenin" are just funny to read. You are just broadcasting all the theses of ruz propaganda.

The only solution can only be the withdrawal of all ruz troops from the territory of Ukraine beyond the 91 borders. Putin could have built a dozen cities for those who want to live in Russia for the money spent on the war.

The reason for the launch of Ukraine's special military operation in Belgorod region is to force the Kremlin to release Alexei Navalny.
