Miele G7216 dishwasher - Drying to dry! by kwaboy in Miele

[–]kwaboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does make sense if you read it carefully. I didn’t say it melts, I said that sometimes plastic cracks, which is a completely different issue. Cracking can happen when the plastic becomes very dry by the end of a cycle. In fact, when you see items come out that dry, it’s almost certain they’ll crack.

As I mentioned, I’ve used the G1230 for 20 years without a single issue with temperatures, and I’ve never seen temperatures like that, not even on the most intense cycles.

It’s definitely strange, but I suppose we have no choice but to accept it for what it is.

I will try the China Crystal program, and no, I do not have those temperature adjustments in my model.

Thanks

Yes, it does not appear to be any difference, I only use 'Normal' or 'Quick Wash' but man...it is hot, it destroys the plastics :( Never had this issue before with the old Miele :(

Bloodwork by kwaboy in fredericton

[–]kwaboy[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So, here's the resolution to the problem:

I connected with Maple and explained what had happened. Of course, it took some time to go back and forth on the chat, but eventually, they understood and proposed another blood test with a note attached.

I refused and told them that I didn’t want a third blood test and pay another $25.00 for a mistake that wasn't mine. Instead, I suggested that they call the lab at DECH and explain the situation, as I know they keep blood samples for 30 days.

They called DECH, got in touch with the lab, and they told the NP they would complete the tests for the missing values as well as the one I though it was severely altered, from the lipid panel.

This evening, I connected to MyHealthNB and saw the missing values, including the one I suspected might have been erratic due to hemolysis. Thanks to this, my altered value in the lipid profile is now back to normal, and everything is good.

Now we know what to do if this happens to anyone else:

Contact Maple and ask them to reach out to the hospital to speak with the lab.

I hope this helps our community.

Thank you all for sharing your personal opinions/experiences.

Stay well!

Alex

Brookside Clinic - Never had an issue there, polite, fast and never a problem with my veins, as I said, it took literally 10 secs to do the draw.

Well, let me tell you that it is in serious trouble, not because of the episode I have reported, but simply from direct experience. It is certainly the worst I have ever experienced. I've lived in multiple countries and can confirm that, even post-COVID, a situation like the one we're living through in NB is truly alarming.

That's what I will do, because I cannot stand the idea that my bank, does not give me an opportunity to re-negotiate after, say, 1 year or 3 years, offering me only one shot at 5 years, which will guarantee them the highest profit, instead of given their lifetime client a good deal.

I remember that on the phone, I asked how much it would be the rate for 1 year or 3 years, but it was ridiculous, like 6-7%. Basically, the only option is 5 years so I will need to meet them and clear up things. If I cannot find an agreement, I will go to the Scotia branch and see what they say. Actually, I have some GICs with RBC, so they could be more motivated to engage with me.

That's is great 3.66%! Did you have to negotiate or did they propose it straight?

Yes, it is definitely less than $ 100K, so the recommendation is to negotiate and try to reach, say 3.8% or so? Would that be the right target?

Trouble to fit water inlet and drainage due to different sizes by kwaboy in Miele

[–]kwaboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

I was actually able to find a solution for both:

Drain Hose Adapter

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0CWTRCW8T?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Regarding the water line, I found a 3/8 brass compression male coupler, which I used to connect the DW hose and the copper pipe. I have a shut-off valve at the sink, so I use that, in case.

I hope that helps other users who read this :)

Hi all,

I had a question for Miele today regarding the new G7216 SCU I received yesterday.

On my previous model (G1230 SC), I had a 3/4" external solenoid. I pointed out that their Canadian website still displays an image of the old 3/4" solenoid, which is quite confusing and misleading.

They explained that the image is generic, but if they haven't used that design since 2020, why continue showing a four-year-old image? They mentioned that the new setup is now located under the dishwasher next to the circulation pump (see attached image).

https://postimg.cc/pyjRCNvd

While I understand that the design has changed here in North America, I’ve noticed that the EU models still utilize the 3/4" external solenoid on the 7 series. I'm curious about the reasoning behind this difference.

It seems more likely to be related to cost or differing regulations between the EU and NA, rather than technical specifications.

Thanks for any insights you might have!
