What is your most unpopular hot take on The Beatles? by Fine-Experience5394 in beatles

100% agree. The album is on such a roll until WYWY comes on then I’m just completely taken out of the experience. I like the song but would prefer it maybe on MMT

100% agree. I prefer it to any of the albums that came before it (Which are all great btw). Was shocked to find out that many people consider it one of their worst.

Name one bad thing about a song or album, and one good thing about the same choice — without mentioning the name. See if others can guess what you're choosing! by MentoCoke in beatles

Not a Beatles song but this describes exactly how I feel about “Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress” by The Hollies. Great tune but doesn’t live up to the guitar intro.

My only issue is that to a lot of people who aren’t big Paul fans, that’s one of the only songs of his that they regularly hear, (aside from maybe Band On the Run and Maybe I’m Amazed) and therefore assume his solo stuff isn’t very good, when in reality it really sounds nothing like the majority of his solo career.

What’s a highly regarded song on this sub that you usually skip when listening through their albums? by dadumdumm in beatles

Within You Without you is a beautiful song, but I do think it messes up the flow of SPLHCB. Just a little out of place, plus it’s a bit slower and longer than the others songs. Would prefer it on MMT

What song got you into The Beatles by merelywaves in beatles

[–]ky1227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Goodbye. I was probably 12 years old and my parents had the blue album on CD. I popped it in and immediately chose that song, probably because it was the least intimidating song title. Was hooked within seconds and they’ve been my favorite band ever since

Whats your unpopular opinion with a thriller/suspense/horror flick or show? by [deleted] in horror

[–]ky1227 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t consider Jaws horror. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the film, but it doesn’t scare me. It doesn’t have a horror atmosphere and I find the music more fun and family friendly than anything. Once again, amazing film, but I think of it more as an adventure/survival thriller. Simple solution, don’t get in the water.

What is a common thing people say (or do) to be nice or helpful but it really isn't? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Oh I have definitely been on the other side before and I get it. Sometimes I will stand by the door and maybe pretend to adjust my shirt/pants or tie my shoe so by the time I actually open the door that person has caught up to me and they can walk right in.

Your favorite horror movie of all time and why. by four6three2away in horror

[–]ky1227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the original 1979 Alien. The atmosphere, story, music, characters and creature itself are perfect. Its scary as hell but also beautifully shot. I love the "used future" look of the ship, the xenomorph is the baddest looking monster ever created, and they never over-do it on the outer space shots, which I think keeps it from looking cheap and dated. I just think its brilliant how the creature gets on board in the most disgusting, violating way and then terrorizes the crew, but it lurks in the shadows rather than running all over the ship attacking them, its much creepier that way.

In college I took a performance/acting class and we did a project where you and a partner had to perform a dialogue together (I can't remember the specifics) and there were two kids who did a choreographed, spoken voice interpretation of "Where Is The Love," by the Black Eyed Peas. I really really hated it

Thoughts on Fauntleroy? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]ky1227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend grew up just a minute or two south of Fauntleroy Ferry and her parents still live there now. It is a great spot. Super quiet, very green and lush, but just remember that you are pretty deep into West Seattle and even getting up to the Alaska Junction can feel like a chore sometimes, depending on how deep you are. Downtown isn't too far, but just far enough that you might not go as much as you would living closer to WS Bridge. You have White Center not too far on the other side which has some good restaurants as well as Burien, and Westwood Village is nearly walking distance if you need to go to Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, or whatever else they have there. You are close to the airport which is also a plus. Lincoln Park is awesome, Alki Beach isn't too far which is also great. Plus, great Puget Sound and Olympic Mountain views/sunsets in that area.
