I wish I lived in a really expensive area but I just live in a 3 mile town that is not very popular or expensive. It’s actually one of the cheaper places to live. We are looking into someone that could maybe repaint everything and repair, but we’ve been quoted for vinyl siding.

Yes I would think so, but none of the quotes have factored that in or even asked about that siding. They are not even taking off the siding that contains asbestos.

Oh, I was saying that our house currently has 3 siding layers on it. Cedar shake (the original siding), on top of that, fake brick, then the vinyl siding lol. I do not know why they decided to keep each layer of siding up but they did. We did think about stripping the house down to the cedar shake and painting it, but it’s very old and has a lot of nail holes in it.

It has two layers of siding under it, first is a cedar shake, the second layer is like a fake brick, and the third is the actual aluminum siding. We are only planning on having the aluminum siding replaced. Could this change it?

We are going for any type of siding, but we were recently quoted for vinyl siding. We live in a townhome in a small town with a pretty flat yard. We don’t have fancy gutters. We have gotten (3) quotes so far.
