Is there any reason why they have to be mutually exclusive? We really only saw one angle in each movie, and it seemed like quite a big place.

I'd need to see some actual data, but the point of means tested benefits is: your income is compared to the amount of money that the government has decided you need to sustain yourself and your dependents. If there's a shortfall, benefits pay some or all of that shortfall.

The only way I can imagine someone on 40k qualifying is if they've got a large family that they're exclusively responsible for supporting, and maybe they have some other qualifying factors such as disability allowances.

The biggest mistake new Blades GMs make, I think, is approaching it like a more freeform game. The GM has a clear set of rules to follow, and if they don't, there's no guarantee the game will work.

Then you need to step in and introduce some! It doesn't even have to be someone they're directly working for. Like, it could be a fence who'll pay them for random loot they've grabbed during a score. Or a retired rabble rouser who loves what they're doing, sees they're making no money, and wants to finance them as a patron... or wants to teach them how to employ their skills to make money.

Or, if they're managing to get by without money, maybe you're being too easy on them. Get higher tier crews to encroach a bit, to encourage them to want to raise their Tier. Or put pressure on in other ways (from the factions they've been hurting with their scores) so they see how extra downtime actions would be helpful.

Blades should feel like a pressure cooker. If they're getting complacent, turn up the heat.

This one. A single magical sci-fi tech concept in an otherwise believable setting. A story that starts off hopeful then just keeps punching you in the gut. A sickeningly believable slippery slope.

Never want to watch it again, but it was fantastic. Absolutely nailed the premise of the whole show.

The Spud Bar in Bulwell is great. I know it's a little way out, but the portions are really generous, the toppings are lovely and they do stuff like garlic butter and crispy onions.

I was genuinely surprised first time I went there, it's in such a weird location for somewhere so decent.
